I bought this to take my son to Disney. I wanted him to have some autonomy but not be able to escape; he's a runner. He hated the backpack and I noticed that it started tearing after only one day. He loves the wrist tether though. We use it at stores and for walks near home. He's always willing to hold his wrist out so I can attach it. The cord and clips are very sturdy and the wrist bands fasten securely. I am confident using it
