Kowa YF II 6x30 Binocular

These binos are excellent for the price and for what I need them for very happy with the quality and glass.

Nice well made, and and very portable binoculars, had them a while now so they have been well tested, only gripe is the focusing wheel took ages to slacken off, it was very stiff, so hard to focus quickly, bought them in 2022, it's fine now so glad I didn't return them!

These are replacing my 8x42 and my 10x50 for glassing western big game and here’s why: depth of field. When you focus on something with an 8 power of higher, much of the foreground and background will be blurry, not with these; depending on how far you are looking, you’ll get hundreds of yards in front and behind the object that will be in clear focus aka depth of field. These binoculars truly are remarkable; they outperform glass 5X their price. If ever there was a sleeper set of binos that went under the radar, these are it. I had the chance to compare these at the spring optics fair at the Bird Alliance of Oregon where Nikon, Zeiss, Swarovski, and Kowa had displays. This inexpensive bino outperformed the more expensive Kowa models, and was the most enjoyable piece of glass to look through if you enjoy clear views with an expansively rich depth. On March 28, 2026, I was hand holding these binos at 4:00 in the afternoon I was able to clearly see numerous craters on the moon. I hope Kowa never stops making these. Best $150 I’ve ever spent.
