Convenient but finicky - worth the price?
I haven’t tried a traditional pump, so I can’t compare. I appreciate the convenience and compactness of the Elvis pump, but it can be finicky, which certainly makes me wonder if it is worth the high price (I bought it because I had a big chunk of HSA money I had to use up). By finicky, I mean that once in a while one of the pumps fails to establish suction, even if I seem to be doing everything “right.” I also had a frustrating customer service experience. One of the breast shields warped when I first sterilized it. (I used the Instant Pot. I understand some sterilization methods are not recommended because of too much direct heat, but for a product part that needs to get sterilized a lot, I would really hope it could stand up to most methods.) When I first contacted customer service, they were very responsive and said they would replace the breast shields… and then they ghosted me. I checked back in twice after not hearing anything for weeks, and finally gave up and bought myself new shields because only being able to pump one side at a time had become too frustrating. I still have never heard back.

Shields easily chip and warranty doesn't cover
So I will first say, I was a huge fan of this product. Super helpful to have on the go especially trying to get my me time back in. My baby is a month old and I bought this product 60 days ago so still under the 90 day warranty. I washed the washable parts in my baby brezza washer, when I took the top off to empty the washer, the Shied tumbled out and fell on the floor which took a large chip out of the shield.. I was shocked that a product that was not only $550 but made for moms was so easy to break. I felt assured when I saw they had a 90 day warranty and reached out to Elvie for support and but then this was their response: "We do provide warranty however, I do apologize, this warranty does not cover cosmetic deterioration, damage caused by general wear and tear, physical or natural destruction, accident, misuse, modification, neglect or other external causes." Very disappointed with the customer service around this product. For how expensive of a product it is that the company doesn't back their own product to replace for me only a month in from using. I imagine that would accidently happen again, you know being a mom. Thought they of all people would be understanding being a company that creates products for moms! Their response really gave me the ICK :(

Plastic is brittle
The pumps are good. They are quick and easy to use. We had some issues with the Bluetooth connection, but not really needed for the pumps to do their primary function. The issue we have had is with the shields and the collection bottles. The plastic is much too hard and brittle. This causes the shields to crack at the tip, where the suction pressure is highest. It does not help that the shields are made from 2-3 pieces and join right at this spot. (Some shields have been a 2 piece construction, other a 3 piece. The collection bottles also fail at the point of highest stress, the tabs to connect to the lids. These are made from the same plastic as the shields. These would hold up better if they used a softer plastic that is not as brittle. They could also benefit from forming better to the body if they were softer.

Creaky Shields?!
Multiple sets of shields I have purchased have creaked incessantly from the first use. I did not sterilize other than a hand wash, because apparently any heat will warp this plastic. A poor choice of material for something that really should be sterilized regularly! The last three sets have creaked within the first use, and others have developed the creak after 2 or 3 uses. I complained to Elvie and they were wonderful and sent replacements, but the replacements creak as well. By creak, I mean the shields shift with every pump motion and rub against the pumps, it sounds like walking on an old floor that creaks with every step. Frustrating because the pumps are so expensive for the purpose of discreet pumping, yet the creaking is so loud its ridiculous. Starting to regret this brand of in-bra pump because the cost of shields is adding up on top of it.
