If you make braised meats or soups, this is a great gadget to quickly get rid of all the extra fat which renders off and floats to the top. Simply pour the cooking liquid into this gadget, let the fat rise to the top and pull the trigger to drain the broth/stock without the fat. I use mine for pot roasts (skin off the fat before making gravy) and to get rid of some of the fat when I’m making chicken stock. Fast and easy! The only downside is the fact it is another specialized kitchen gadget which needs storage space. Mine has earned a spot in the pantry.

This fat separator is extremely easy to use and works much more effectively than a traditional fat separator. I like it that I can fill it, pop it in the fridge for the fat to float up and harden, then dispense the clear broth from the bottom directly into any container. When I see that we’re getting to the fat, I slide the lid off and dispose of it in the trash. Everything goes in the dishwasher; it’s durable and doesn’t get scratched up. It is lightweight, easy to assemble, and store.

This has made such a big difference in my gravy. Before I could never get all of the fat. It is such a simple design that works well, easy to use and clean.

I love this product! It’s my second one. After many years, the first got a crack in the bottom. Probably my fault. Regardless I wanted another one. Easy to take apart and throw in dishwasher. I bought it because America’s Test Kitchen recommended. They’re very reliable.

I was in need of a gravy separator that worked. This is it! Made a fresh ham for Easter and had a great amount of liquid after roasting. The cup was more than adequate to measure the juice. It was so easy to drain once the liquid had separated. I am very happy and would recommend this product.

This thing is amazing. These pictures are from the Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana soup recipe I was trying. And yes it’s bomb, and yes this fat extractor is awesome! In picture 3 you’ll notice a little more fat because there was still liquid (and more fat) in the pot because all the ingredients to the soup were in there. What I will do next time is scoop out the ingredients and add to the pot holding the extracted liquids. Highly recommend!

I've looked at this separator for years, and now that I have it, I wonder why I let myself go so long without it! A must-have for soups, stocks, sauces, and gravy! It’s easy to use and comes apart nicely for easy washing! The time I save using this rather than a traditional spoon or suction is absolutely worth the few seconds it takes to use and wash.

This separator comes ready to use out of the box, with a bonus vegetable peeler. The separator is large and holds a lot of juice. The top strainer is also generous so you can pour right from the pan without having to prestrain. Once the cup is almost full just wait a few minutes for the oil to separate. Then hold the separator over a container or pan and simply press the red button on the top of the handle and the bottom juices flow out. The button can be depressed at various pressures to control the flow. the handle is large and comfortable so its easy to operate with one hand. Releasing the button self-seals the bottom spout and it is leak proof. I have use the traditional low spout design and this is much easier and better. The top strainer pops off for easy cleaning and its dishwasher safe. The peeler is a bonus and it works well and is comfortable.

An easy to use and effective way to separate fat from meat juices or gravy. Comes apart easily to clean and has been fine to pop in the dishwasher.

Not the type of separator I was hoping for, this one is for kitchen use and works quite well with Roast and Turkey drippings, helps make fabulous gravy, which also doesn't help separate me from the fat in my belly. Will have to keep shopping for the right kind of separator, but right now, I'm going to enjoy my open face Hot Turkey sandwich.
