Will this cable quick charge my galaxy s9 with the samsung fast charge power brick, or do I need an Anker power brick?

Yes, it can fast charge your galaxy s9 with the Samsung fast charge power brick.

Have any of these caught fire?

I've purchased approximately 10 of these over the past 5 or 6 years (different lengths and for different locations - work, home - car) and none of them have. This is the only brand I will ever buy.

Does it fast charge the Note 9

It works on my Note 10+ as long as you use the right power connector.
