CD Review: Will increase in value future wise - Perfect album Review: The Sophomore Effort Of Creedence Says It All! - This second album by Creedence Clearwater Revival bought the group to the rock and roll map with John Fogerty's compositions such as "Born On The Bayou", "Bootleg", "Graveyard Train", "Penthouse Pauper", "Keep On Chooglin'" and, of course, "Proud Mary". This time there's only one cover here-the Little Richard classic "Good Golly Miss Molly". I like the tangerine colored vinyl copy of this one and it doesn't skip either. Great! After listening to this album, it'll also make you keep on chooglin' as well. Guaranteed!

Bayou Country
ESSENTIAL ALBUM!!! The album Bayou Country peaked at #7 on the charts. "Proud Mary" is the only hit from here, peaking at #2 but it's the worst track on the album (Ouch! Did someone just throw a shoe at me?) The "Proud Mary" track stands out like a sore thumb in conjunction with the other songs on here. There are only seven songs on the album without a single misstep. The album opens with "Born on the Bayou", one of the best non-hit album track you'll ever hear on an album. "Bootleg" is a decent enough song which is followed by "Graveyard Train", another outstanding track. Fogerty then reworks a Little Richard classic, "Good Golly Miss Molly", turning it into a dynamite rocker. "Penthouse Pauper" is next, a more than adequate song. Then "Proud Mary" is next, which still feels like it doesn't belong here. The closing song is the incredible "Keep On Chooglin'", where Fogerty shines on lead guitar. John Fogerty has never been my first choice on guitar but, on certain types of songs, like good ol' standard rock 'n' roll, the man can lay down some incredible leads. This is a great ROCK album. As an whole album CCR would never rock again this hard. I remember in high school the rock bands I played in played a total of 5 songs from this (yes, including "Proud Mary"). It sounds great today, a timeless classic that should be in everyone's collection.

Bayou country‼️
Now this came in a day late, came with three cuts on the cover that penetrate into it. But I don’t wanna be that guy that complains. I love ccr. And I love this album especially. Great sound quality, and extra tracks

A landmark album
A very under-rated, intense swampy-bluesy, album which I appreciate now even more than when it was first released. Contains some outstanding material. Proud Mary, the most popular song, was a deserved big hit but Born On The Bayou is the best song. An intense, brooding, swampy - occasionally even slinky - masterpiece with scowling vocals that John Fogerty does better than any other man alive. Play it loud and get into the mood of the song. Magnificent. One of the greatest songs of the era. Bootleg is an excellent, catchy tune which also is typically swampy while being laid back and ultra cool. Very under-rated; few people have heard it but when they do for the first time it is an instant success. I'm surprised they didn't promote that song better. Is noteworthy that JF still does it in his concerts - he knows the good lesser known ones! Keep on Chooglin' (a term Fogerty says he made up himself) is also a great addition to the album. Penthouse Pauper reveals some fine Fogerty blues guitar and is an interesting mood change. Speaking of guitar, Fogerty does some neat work on Good Golly Miss Molly, which rolls along at pace compared to the slow, harp orientated, blues number Graveyard Train, which adds some darkness and tension to an excellent and varied album. I've bought a DCC version because the fine collection deserves to be heard at its best. A must have.

I LOVE Bayou Country!
I decided to buy all the remastered cd's of the Creedence Clearwater Revival albums (thanks Amazon!) because I've been a fan of the band for years. I thought it was time I heard more than just the songs from the CHRONICLES albums. They are all fantastic, but I find myself listening to BAYOU COUNTRY slightly more than the others. Of course there's the legendary tune PROUD MARY. But BORN ON THE BAYOU is one of my absolute favorite, so those are two great reasons alone to get the album. But this album also includes 3 songs I wasn't quite familiar with: GRAVEYARD TRAIN is a haunting blues jam that seems to move with the tempo of a slow rolling train. BOOTLEG is a fun rock and roller that makes great use of Tom Fogerty's rhythm guitar. It's so good, I wonder why it wasn't one of their big hits. Finally, KEEP ON CHOOGLIN' is an mesmerizing jam, played in perfect harmony by the fellas. Tom Fogerty's guitar, Stu Cook's base, Cosmo's drumming work so beautifully with John Fogerty's lead guitar, harmonica and vocals you get somewhat swept away by its power. This song may just be my new favorite! I can't help but feel those three songs should have been included in the CHRONICLES 2 album, but whatever. It's an excuse to buy the album. No more excuses...go out and get you some BAYOU COUNTRY!

Revisionist Appreciation For This Album
I bought the late 1980s CD remaster of this album as a teenager, and I might have listened to it a couple of times waiting for "Proud Mary." I've been listening to it in the car for the past week and I have a greater appreciation for this album than I did in the 1990s. "Graveyard Train" has actually grown on me with its seemingly endless droning. The live bonus stuff illustrates how tight they were as a live band, though you can hear the occasional clunk!

Fabioo '961

勘違いかなあ?Good Golly~がA面1曲目だとずっと思ってました。勘違い?流れもそっちのほうが良い気が・・・。あくまでも私個人の、です。でもいい曲たくさん。プラウドメアリーは、Roll’in On The River のタイトルにすれば、カッコいいし、全米1位獲れたかもなあ笑 オススメアルバムですよ~。ああ、あともしよかったら4から聴いてみて。
