Overall pretty nice product.
I received 2 poles, as advertised and expected. The poles come disassembled; very nicely packaged. I found the assembly to be very simple. I gave 5 stars for "East to install" One minor issue I'll mention is that the first set I ordered, included 2 top cap pieces (the part that goes on the top end of the poles) which were were circular in nature. Upon realizing that I was going to need 2 more poles, I came back to the same product page I placed my original order from and re-ordered another set. When the second set arrived, I noticed the top cap pieces are a bit different, not circular, more straight in nature as depicted in the photo. Would I have preferred the second set arrived and been identical to the first set, yes, however, in the grand scheme of things, no big deal. They essentially assemble and function the same. I purchased from Costco, 2 boxes of 48' plug-in string lights to string in a zig-zag pattern over our large concrete patio in our back yard. I used the fork-end on the bottom of each pole to stick into the dirt. With the forks fully and entirely pushed down into the ground, upon stringing up a strand of lights, in my scenario, each pole definitely leans a bit toward our house (where the other end of the string loops through hooks) from the weight of the string of lights. Lacking time to make adjustments, I ended up getting some properly rated string, pushed the pole out (away from the house), more perpendicular, and tied the string around a fence board and the pole tightly, to support it. A cheap fix but it got the job done and works. I gave 4 stars for sturdiness because these poles are pretty darn sturdy. The last feature I was asked to rate was "Brightness". I find this goofy because this review is about these poles (which are mat black). They aren't bright at all. I gave 3 stars anyway because I'm feeling generous. 4 stars overall for me.

A little overpriced, but they work as long as you get a good kit
You have to screw them together, so that does create for some of them not being perfectly straight, but if you need them to be portable as we do in our RV, it’s a trade off to be able to break them down and carry them in some of our smaller storage bays. They also have a considerable amount of lean to them when using them in corners because the weight of the string lights pull them. We ordered another box so we would not have to spread them out so far. This will probably help a little bit but ultimately to keep them perfectly straight you’ll probably have to use some type of tie-down on the corners. Your mileage may vary with this based on the weight of your lights. When you unboxed these, pay attention to the tips of the staking piece. Not all of ours came to point and we had difficulty with those getting them into the ground. Fortunately, we have the ability at work to weld material to the bottom and reshape them to a sharp point. I didn’t take photos before hand, but if you happen to get a package that suffers this, it’s easily apparent. Do not use too much force pushing these into the ground. If you can’t push them in by hand or with moderate pressure using your feet, find a softer location. The welds are not very strong and we did find welds on two of our steaks, starting to fatigue after first use. ultimately, we are happy with these. They do what they need to do however, I don’t believe they’re worth $30. I should probably give it 3 stars, but I am giving it 4 because they do work albeit some quirks.

Not bad!
I have about 5 in my yard, and I’ve had to replace 3. For the most part they are great however I have found that some bend easy and the stake portion breaks off. Another item to get on sale if you can!

Great value and does the job
I bought 4 packs of the two pack poles. Some went straight into the ground and others went into pots that have big trees in them. You can use an extra segment from the other kits to add height to your poles but be aware this can cause them to become less stable/straight. If you increase the tension too much on the string lights you can cause the poles to be crooked but that is not the fault of the product, that is because you need to stabilize the base of the poles better. To offset increased tension and keep my poles straighter I used larger landscaping river rocks and wedged them between the pot edge and the pole to close the gap and that worked great. This is a fast way to hang lights and create a nice ambience in your yard without having to install permanent posts. We may remove these later and reuse in a raised garden area later down the line but for now they work and look great! They hold up in our monsoon winds too (Phoenix area). The metal is not super thick but for the price and performance I'm pleased with this product. They helped transform my dark backyard into a nicely lit and inviting space. Be aware you must find a way to stabilize/reinforce the base of each pole. The higher up the better. An example of how I did this with an in ground pole is I placed it right next to a large barrel planter. The planter is full of soil and helped keep the pole straight. As stated above I also used larger river rocks inside of the planters as wedges. You have to get creative and this product allowed for that. I imagine if you placed this against a walk or a fence you can just use brackets to attach them to the wall/fence but my poles are placed in the middle of our yard so I couldn't do that.

Look nice but bulbs go out easily.
I purchased these lights in 2024. They look very nice but the bulbs go out easy. 2 or 3 bulbs were out before the summer was over but the company replaced them. I put them inside the garage for the winter. When I took them out for summer 2025, 2 or 3 more were out and the rest were dim (but still working). Last winter I didn't bother putting them away at all. We'll see how they look for summer 2026.
