manual only setting, but no problem with digital camera
Works as advertised. It is a manual flash, so you need to set it yourself, and you can set the two sides of the flash differently. But this is no bother with a digital camera. as it only takes a few shots to get it right. The rechargeable aspect is a real help

Simple and to the point Manual Ring Flash with 2 separate light groups and modelling light
The new Godox MF-R76 is a Manual Ring Flash with a 5” (13cm) ring diameter and manual power adjustment. In my opinion, the main selling point of this flash unit is its ease of use, starting with a very simple assembly process. First you attach the correct size ring adapter to your lens (all sizes are provided in the package). Then the flash ring slides neatly onto this adapter, and the flash unit itself connects to the hotshoe of your camera. Power it on and you are ready to go. There is no TTL function, so you’ll have to adjust the power output manually. An interesting feature is that the ring is divided in half into 2 groups of lights, one on each half, and the power of each group can be adjusted separately using a simple control on the screen. This gives you a lot of fine control of the power output, affecting the light and shadow pattern which can be used practically or for creative effect. Another advantage is the compatibility of the MF-R76 with all camera brands equipped with a standard hotshoe mount. There is also no HSS (High Speed Sync), so you will have to stay at or below your camera’s sync speed. This is a little limiting if your camera’s sync speed is 160/s, and it means needing ND filters if using the MF-R76 in broad daylight. There is a modelling light available, but it is too weak for outdoors and can only light up close up subjects in darker conditions. I feel the modelling light is only there to assist with autofocus for Macro photography. In terms of build quality, it is plastic all round, with a rubber coil cord connecting the flash ring and the control unit. The ring is very light and feels hollow compared to the bulky and somewhat heavy control unit. The battery model used is VB26A, which is the same battery used in the Godox V1 round head speedlight. The provided mini charger with USB-C connection will charge the battery quite quickly. As well as Macro photography, the light ring can be used for portraiture. When used as a ring light attached to the lens, it creates a shadowless look and leaves a ring-shaped catchlight in the eyes. You can also use it detached as a retro style wired flash, holding the flash ring separately. Overall I really like how simple and practical the MF-R76 ring flash is.

Great flash for dental photography
Was in the market for a new macro ring flash for dental photography, heard good things about this flash and decided to check it out. I've used it with my Sony A6400 and Canon R7 with no compatibility issues. So far the flash has worked great clinically, and I really like that I don't have to carry around or worry about double A batteries anymore. The rechargeable battery is integrated into the flash itself and charges pretty quickly (see photo for how the battery comes out of the unit). I did feel this flash was much stronger than my previous YONGNUO ring flash and produced more cool colors. This wasn't a bad thing, just required some tinkering which would be true with any change to camera set-up. This model also lets you adjust the flash strength of each side individually if desired. From everything I've been seeing online, it's between this and a twin flash. This has been great for high-volume clinic days and requires little maintenance or adjustment for my use case, which is more general view diagnostic records. For what it's worth, I did see on social media that some third party companies also support diffusers for this flash, such as Lustra by ProDentalPhoto and the Intra Diffuser Ring by intra.photos. I haven't used them personally but saw that they can help achieve more esthetic shots by softening the harshness of the light, although some detail may be lost. Overall, would recommend for dental photography. I think there may be other versions of this flash that have a specific dental mode and are brand specific, so feel free to look into those options if that makes sense for you.
