Scholastic Success With Reading Tests: Grade 6

I bought this for my 6th grade grandson. He struggles a little bit with reading and comprehension. This has been a great supplement to his school studies and he enjoys it. I have him complete just one page each evening and that keeps it simple enough for him so he doesn't get frustrated and not want to do it. Each page has 2 separate very short articles and then about 3 multiple choice questions each for what they read. He reads the articles out loud and then reads out each question. The articles are maybe only a paragraph or two long but they are interesting topics and he's doing it willingly so that's a good sign. Every few pages there is a vocabulary page to check on their comprehension. The book is a great price, it's being used, and isn't too involved. Great!

Good tool for a refresherz

I loved the fact that the book included both synonyms and antonyms. The comprehension passages are not very challenging.

My son kept getting a few wrong and now only gets one or two wrong. Has improved his understanding of what is being told in a story. Great for 6th graders.

I purchased both 5th and 6th grade reading for a 5th grader. There are 10 20 minute tests in the book. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

Every teacher wants short, focused passages to assess different skills. This is perfect! I've used this in a test prep center, for homework, for warm-ups, and the longer tests are great diagnostic skills. I've pulled and retyped the short passages for my own quizzes. Very solid. Grade level appropriate.

This was a great workbook. It was very simple but rewarding, the stories weren't super long but the questions were thought provoking. We used this book in addition to the Summer Bridge book over the summer.

I bought this book during my son's Early year. He had learning disability as a result of his cancer treatment. Nevertheless this book is a great source for kids learning to read and improve on vocabulary. Great book to have
