Is this the two piece retractable model, or is the rod one piece?

It’s a one rod piece. Doesn’t retract or extend.

Does this have the easy connect like a fishing lure or the metal bead chain type clasp?

It has an easy clip/ clasp connection. Very easy to work with. It’s a great kitty toy but should be used with supervision as cats will tear the feathers off if they get the chance.

How do you change out the feathers to a new ones? Is there a clasp or do you untie it?

purchase a small "eye screw" from any hardware store that will fit into the top of the "Da Bird" pole. Then you can use the broken line to tie the feathers to the circular screw head. I then tie strings and ribbons to the end of the pole and my cats like destroying this as much as the feathers. It's best to hide the stick every night to prevent unsupervised nightly destruction.

My line keeps breaking, is there a replacement line that can be purchased?

I am not sure. I have not had that problem.
