More Products Review: Perfect lightweight, breathable, pretty blanket - (August 2020) After trying bamboo sheets a few months ago, I was an immediate convert. I bought several sheet sets and extra pillowcases, and then got a bamboo weighted blanket too. I love the way bamboo bedding can keep me warm enough without causing me to wake up overheated and sweating during the night! I needed a bamboo blanket for an extra layer between the top sheet and the weighted blanket, and for nights when I don't want the weighted blanket. This blanket is very thin, but has a bit of weight and drape to it. Folded in half, it's a perfect light throw blanket for napping on top of the covers during the day. It's also an excellent extra layer for my bed when my silk-filled duvet isn't quite enough warmth, or when it's too warm but I want a bit more weight and warmth than just the top sheet alone. The sheen of the bamboo fibers and the small diamond pattern of the knit are very attractive, too! It's a great value for the price and I'm very happy with it. Update July 2023: This blanket does arrive with a very soft, silky hand and a pretty sheen due to the bamboo fiber it's made of, and retained them for a couple of years of semi-regular use and gentle care (though it did shrink noticeably after the first wash); three years later, after lending it to a friend who did not care for it properly, and put it through normal wash and tumble dry cycles, it is still somewhat soft, but has lost its sheen and its silky feel, and has pilled a fair amount. I suspect the person who said this blanket is rough, and not soft at all (and implied that all the good reviews were fake - ??), probably received a used and returned one. I just bought another one to replace it and will not be lending it out, lol. Review: I've bought five of them - I love these blankets!! I see people complaining that they aren't cooling, but remember it's not about cooling you down; it's about not retaining heat like most blankets do. You won't wake up in a pile of sweat with these. I've bought several of them and would love to have them in other colors too. They are extremely breathable! Perfect when you need a cover but don't want to feel stuffy or overheated. They are lightweight, and I've had no issues with washing them in the washing machine and drying them in the dryer. I dry them with wool balls and it makes them super soft - I don't know why people are saying these aren't soft because they definitely are (you can't compare sherpa to bamboo blankets; perhaps that's what people are expecting). Highly recommend! These are my favorite couch, napping, and travel blankets.

Very breathable blanket
I have very poor circulation and cannot sleep if I am hot but I also strongly prefer to have a blanket on me even in summer. I recently got some bamboo socks and love them so figured I would try this. It absolutely is very breathable and cooler than a traditional blanket. It is sturdy and soft while being lightweight. My cat has easily made some pulls in it and I'm sure it will shrink some in the wash but I'm not real concerned about that. Has definitely kept me more comfortable sleeping at night in summer time. Washing update: I got the 80x90 and I have a full size bed. Before washing it was definitely oversized for the bed. I washed it on medium heat with the sheets and then dried it separately- 30min on low heat but was still pretty damp so did 20min medium heat and it turned out fine. Still fits the full size bed with about 6" on each side (width) and 6" extra total for length. I was also worried about the cat hair (black tuxedo cat on light grey blanket) but it came out fine with no noticeable hair.

Cooling for sure
I love that the blanket doesn't retain heat. It's amazing in the summer when you just need something light. Howerever, it's not ideal for my situation. Living in the humid South means you cannot hang dry anything... so I put this on 6 cycles of 2 hours each on air dry in my dryer to get it dry... not practical. That's my bad though, I read the description before buying it and knew I couldn't hang dry it but I didn't think it would take 6 air dry cycles for it to dry... it gets 5 stars though because it's otherwise an awesome blanket if you just need something light. It's not big enough for my king size bed so my husband and I fight over it which means back to the drawing board to find something similar that actually stretches over the whole bed. (Not the blankets fault though, I knew the size when I bought it... I just didn't realize it would actually work and that I would have to share it LOL!)

Soft and Light Comfort
I love the weight of this blanket, it's light and soft. I got the queen size one for the sofa or for just my side of our king size bed. My husband likes it so much that he tries to stretch it out to cover his side of the bed too. Looks like I'm going to have to buy another one so he won't complain. One thing I don't like is that after washing, you have to hang it up to dry, and not in the sunlight. It would shrink if it lays out in the sun or goes in the dryer. I hung it on my deck (in the shade) after washing and then put it on No Heat Air Fluff in my dryer so no damage was done. It reminds me of a blanket that you can only get in a nice European hotel. Wish the king size price wasn't that vastly different from the queen size price. Might just get hubby another queen size so we both can snuggle our own. Also, for a woman who is going through menopause, this is the perfect weight if one is having hot flashes. Made of 100% bamboo, so again...very soft! Recommended.

A REAL REVIEW by a REAL PERSON. I'm a little concerned about the rest of these reviews. Hmmm.
1.) It's NOT soft. Nope. Not at all. Think Hospital waffle blanket. From 1980. Think roughish. 2.) Is it silky? If you rub your fingers over it the outer part of the pattern is a little silky-esh, but due to the weaving pattern its actually NOT silky at all in the way Americans think of SILKY, smooth, lightweight, soft. Nope. 3.) YES IT'S SMALL and it shrinks in COLD water and not drying it except inside per instructions. And it is MAJOR shrinkage. Its a small blanket to begin with, one wash and its going to be 5 inches smaller all the way around. Dry it in a dryer and its going to be even smaller. It's made with Asian/small body types in mind I think, much like shoes and clothing, or someone is just being chintzy on the threads. 4.) It's a headache, because who doesn't like a fresh clean blanket. But you need to wash this in cold and then throw it over a chair or line inside to dry. So in the days of covid, well, I don't like a blanket I can't wash on hot and dry on hot. Call it -High Maintence-. 5.) If you are used to the old-time silk rimmed blankets or newer poly or microfiber that is all soft and light, but yet warm, this is NOTHING like that, at all. NOTHING. The texture is completely different. 6.) It is NOT lightweight. Like most bamboo things it has heft and weight to it, though it is thin. 7.) Unless you have tough manly man skin you do NOT want to use this without a sheet under it. It's that uncomfortable. I know in EU and Asian culture a top sheet is not the norm like it is in the USA. 8.) Snags? It comes out of the package with snags, (see pic) and just gets worse, esp, if you have a dog that loves to sleep with you, (Or cat I would guess) but no flying balls of lint yet. Then again I did not DRYER dry it. I tossed it over a chair and aimed a fan at it, inside. OK all that out of the way, (And I have bamboo clothing, sheets, pillowcases and the like so I can say with all honestly this is NOTHING like the other bamboo things I own. Not nearly as "feel good or smooth"THE TRUTH about this blanket when it comes to cooling.... Welp, the first night I used it, on TOP of a bamboo "cooling" sheet that I've used for a long time, we had a little cold snap. And I found myself grabbing for another blanket to put on top of it and was STILL cold. Could have used a third blanket but was too tired to move. That is ODD for me, even when the house is cool, I want to be COLD to sleep. I mean I'm the person who thinks 60 inside the house is a perfect temp. When I'm awake I might get chilly, but for whatever reason, I sleep HOT, no matter the type of bed. (Right now I sleep on a cooling mattress too...haha haha.) When you hold to the light you can see it has MANY holes in it, its near see-through, hence the cooling I GUESS??, more so than the fiber?? I don't know. I mean any blanket with holes would keep you cool, right? I am a hot sleeper, even when its cold and I did not get hot. Hmmm. Yet. The weather hasn't warmed enough for me to give it a fair shake on that, but I WILL come back an update. Hence the 3 stars, even if its just for a holy blanket. My thoughts so far are, overpriced, high maintenance, low quality, too small...but it seemed to keep me cool. I will be back to update as the weather warms as I do live in a normally hot and humid climate. But if it really does keep me cool, with all its faults, I will be the first to RAVE about it. I've included pics of it over an inside lamp and held up to an outside window so you can see what I am talking about with the weave being so open. AKA Holes.

I live this bkanket
I ordered the king size light grey. I did not read the instructions for washing before buying this blanket. So I was surprised (not happy) it said hand wash line dry. That was not going to happen. So I washed it on gentle cycle and dried it on time dry on low. It took a couple hours to get nearly dry, then I took it out, folded it in quarters and hung it over my drying rack. It came out beautifully. It is so soft and light weight. I’m so happy with this blanket. It is pricey, but I expect it will last for a long time. If I have any issues with it I will update my comment.

My Family LOVES this blanket
It doesn’t feel the softest when it arrives and the letter that arrived with it was printed in English but it was backwards. So it was kind of like those “secret message” things when you use a mirror to read it be able to read it. It does work though! When I go to bed, I feel just warm enough to fall asleep comfortably and I don’t wake up in the middle of the night kicking it off. Also I feel like the more I wash it, the softer it gets. I don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets, just detergent and borax and it definitely gets the job done. The directions say to line dry it but not in the sun, so definitely make sure to wash it first thing in the morning so you have all day for it to dry. I haven’t risked throwing it in the dryer yet, but if I do I’ll update my review. UPDATE So I’ve bought a second blanket since because my sister stole mines 😂. It has since been in the dryer and I have not seen any significant changes in the blanket.

It really is a cooling blanket
I was searching hard for economical blanket that can accommodate the Singapore climate. My husband is a hot sleeper while I can't sleep in a super cold air conditioned room. So, to compromise, I bought this blanket to try out and see if my husband will like it. He love this blanket and has recommended to his family.
