This flash diffuser/soft box is sold by multiple companies under many names and seems to be identical to the others. Arrived fast and were very inexpensive. Not expecting much but the idea really intrigued me. They come flat and store that way as well so they take up literally no room in your bag. Mounting them on my flash units was a bit of a chore as the elastic bands were very snug. However, I got the hang of it after the first one. I thought they might be a touch larger which would have made them more effective but size comes with a price of less stable mounting. While not as diffuse a light spread these do the job nicely. What I REALLY like about them is they stay put. Used directly they act like a little light box as the diameter of the light source is 2X larger than the flash unit unlike a Stofen which is the same size as the flash. This is a place where size really matters for the quality of the photo but a 2' beauty ring isn't portable or stable in fast moving settings. There are other solutions for this and some do a better job but none as solid mounting as this. I wouldn't hesitate to use this outdoors in the wind for instance. I for one am tired of chasing my diffuser down the street. Incidentally, these have an effect outdoors as they do add some diameter to the light bringing some (albeit small) amount of softening. The Stofen style of diffuser will only work indoors with walls to bounce off of (they really work well for this though) and only serve to lose light off of the subject outdoors. A Note on how to use these after some practice and there are no instructions. They are MUCH more effective if you mount them with the diffusing screen as far as possible from the front of the flash allowing the flash to "fill" the screen with light. If you mount it snug to the flash it will only have a very minimal effect if any at all and will only give you a hot spot in the center.

This inexpensive and tiny diffuser provides amazingly big results. I've tried many small diffusers over the last 15 years and they all end up in the trash bin. I was surprised when I took these photos of a framed picture. Both were taken from the same distance and same settings (TV-125, AV-F5.6, ISO-800). Flash was in manual at 1/8th power. The loss of power with the diffuser was less than 1/3rd of a stop so I maintained the same power level. There were some shadows before the crop. The difference with the diffuser was quite noticeable shadow edges were softer and it even removed some of the lighter shadows. As you can see in the sequential photos it is a major difference. I highly recommend this diffuser it's inexpensive and easy to mount. You won't be disappointed, just don't expect the same results as you'd get from large modifiers. This diffuses light not soften it and it does it very well.

This was my first time using one of these on my flash, and I love it even with the soft box. I was probably still choose this for a portable set up. It folds well to keep in my zipper on my back. it works amazingly, and the light quality is smooth and a rolloff is great.

The quality is fine. The fit is fine. I just didn't get as much actual diffusion out of this as I'd hoped. You'll still get hotspots and a pretty directional light. That's not shocking since the diffusion surface area in front of the flash head is pretty small. Still, I hoped it would be more useful. I think one of those milky plastic diffusers that look like an oversized ice cube would probably do as well or better.

The product works just as it says. It’s not expensive but yet it works just like the top shelf brands. I’m happy I found this. A two pack is a plus!

Working fine to soften thw light of my off camera flashes

These little covers go right over the lens of your flash, and soften the light. I’m using it on my external flash for backfilling, and I used went on the flash on the camera as well to create a nice soft light. The elastic is strong and it holds well on the camera and I am pleased with these little covers. They are worth the price. Now if I can get the delivery people to RING THE DOORBELL it would be perfect. At least this package was put where I asked it to be, but he did not ring the doorbell.
