High quality and great price
This pen is an exceptional writing instrument that combines style, functionality, and durability in a sleek, compact design. From the moment I held it, I was impressed by its weight and solid feel—this pen is built to last. The brass construction gives it a premium, sturdy quality that feels satisfying in hand, and over time, it even develops a unique patina that adds character. The bolt action mechanism is smooth and satisfying to operate, adding a fun, tactile element to using the pen. It clicks securely in place, ensuring the pen stays retracted when not in use, preventing any accidental ink marks. The writing experience itself is flawless, with smooth ink flow and a comfortable grip that makes it easy to write for long periods without hand fatigue. I also appreciate the pen’s minimalist, sleek design. It’s professional enough to use in any setting, whether for work, journaling, or everyday use, but still stands out as a stylish and functional piece. If you’re looking for a pen that’s built to last, offers a satisfying writing experience, and looks great doing it, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

Worth The Money
This pen is fantastic. Writes smooth and feels very well balanced in the hand. The bolt action style is refreshing and different, more fulfilling to fidget with. The titanium feels great with the metal texture and there are no metal burs. The pocket clip feels strong and sturdy. This one’s not flying off into oblivion if stressed too much. The packaging is too notch to boot. Came with a few replacement ink cartridges in the box. This is a perfect gift for yourself or for someone else as I see a lot of potential with engraving and with the titanium, engraving and anodizing. Send me another titanium one and I’ll give it a shot on the anodizing! Thanks for a fantastic product!

Such an amazing pen.
I love this pen. So solid and feels amazing. It takes my favorite refills. G2 .7s and is beautiful. I rocked a G2 Dr Grip for 15 years until the silicone finally gave out, but I find this one more comfortable. The color is classy as well.

These pens are fantastic.
I swear, I don't work for these people. Though, I may be willing to. These pens are functional masterpieces. I write this review for the heat oxidized titanium model, but I got three, (four) of these Smootherpro pens because they are now the only pens I am generally willing to write with. The fourth, not being one of this bolt action model, but too good to not mention here as well.. These pens do perfectly fit G2 ink cartridges, as well as several other makes of compatible diameter with varying degrees of modification. I use a Pentel Energel 0.7mm cartridge in the brass bolt action, and a purple Energel in the titanium. They sit slightly longer, (maybe a millimeter) than the stock cartridges or G2s. I filed the ends down with an emery board, it is a flawless fit. The steel one was the only of the three, for whatever reason, to come with a thin metal disk that sits behind the cartridge, flush with the bolt action mechanism. This does prop the ink tip slightly farther out on this pen than the others. Removing this disk puts this pen back perfectly in line with the brass and titanium units. The disk also fits in the other two. Not sure if this was an oversight, but they all work perfectly without it, and I think I prefer where the cartridge sits without it. Pictures show all of these pens screwing apart at three places on their tubes, but mine only come apart at one of these spots, as shown in my pictures. More curiously, the titanium pen only screws off at the tip, whereas all the others come apart mid-shaft. The density variable checks. These three bolt action pens are virtually identical in dimension, apart from the clip on the titanium one, and where it opens. The brass one weighs approx. 51.8g; the steel one approx. 46.7g; and the titanium only 27.7g. For inquiring minds, the fourth, not bolt action pen weighs approx. 56.3g. All weighed on the same scale of course, and with the same unused stock cartridge for continuity. Definitely using the claimed metals, and machined to a high caliber of precision. These all feel very sturdy and quite substantial in the hand. I personally find the added weight generally pleasant to write with. Though admittedly, the bolt action in the back end of such solidly built pens does make them a bit unwieldy. The titanium one is obviously the least affected by this. It's fairly noticeable with the brass unit. Interestingly, the heaviest, click action brass pen is pretty much perfectly balanced, and honestly feels the nicest to write with. I just aesthetically prefer the bolt action. These pens thoroughly reek of class and, as some have pointed out, the brass units do in fact smell like copper. This will increase with time and use in your bare hand. I personally like it. Smells like pennies. Smells like money. Looks like a banker's pen. This just all checks in my head, but I can see how some may not prefer it. Steel and titanium smell of nothing. As for the bolt action itself, it may not be as smooth out of the box as a bolt action pen costing several times as much. But, as others have pointed out, this fidget friendly mechanism will only wear smoother over time. It took less than the first day of use, and a mild bit of working the bolt back and forth to smooth out the brass bolt action to a buttery glide. It is pleasant, it feels good. The steel one did admittedly take a few days to work in to a similar smoothness. I'm not going to lie, the titanium unit was bothersome to me for a bit. It's mechanism was easily the roughest out of the box, by far. Understanding the realities of working with titanium, I'm not removing any praise for this. In fact, quite the opposite. Titanium is not cheap, and it's not exactly easy to mold, cnc, grind or polish. The degree of precision machining and finishing involved here is honestly nonsense for the price it's being sold here. And to be clear, it has smoothed out too. Just not as much, and it took longer. Bottom line, I dug out a small tripod to take pictures of these pens. I don't keep it out, because I write reviews like this all the time. I had to go find it, and felt compelled to do so, because these pens are so good. I may have a problem, but if you're seriously still reading, it's because I don't actually even have the words for just how highly I recommend any of these.

Seems like a winner.
Just received the black brass version this morning. Shipping was quick. But that’s just condiments. Let’s get to the meat and potatoes. •My pen did come with a black box and a foam cutout. Simple, but kept it safe. •Aesthetically pleasing. Gives off some steampunk-ish vibes. •Has a noticeable weight. It’s not overwhelming, but you definitely know you’re not holding a Bic. It’s a direct result of the pen being solidly built. •The g-2 insert is a g-2 insert. But, after reading another review, I did find that sharpie S-gel inserts work as well. You will need to trim roughly 1/16-1/8 off the end of the cartridge to get the mechanism to work smoothly. Sharp scissors or a utility knife works. Takes less than 15 seconds. But use your head if you opt for the knife. •my first bolt pen so I don’t really have a point of reference. The action is smooth. No rough spots with either the g2 or the S-gel. •The clip also seems sturdy, anchored to the pen on two risers with torx screws. It is a tight clip. If you try to force the clip on to thicker materials, it will cause problems. It’s not built for that. I read a review where the clip broke from Bob the buyer forcing it to clip on their jeans pocket. It’s not only going to damage your jeans, it’s also likely to stress the risers/screws, as Bob found out when his clip broke. Don’t be like Bob. If you’re determined to clip it to your pants pocket, simply take what appears to be a t-6 screwdriver and loosen the screws a little. That should allow the play needed. I say that with a grain of caution. Any tampering with the screws just increases the chances of them working themselves out and you suddenly finding yourself without your new pen. Finally a negative, and a mild one at that. •For me, the barrel is a tad thin where you grip it to write. I don’t have gigantor hands, but they are a little bigger that average. Combined with the weight, I could see some hand fatigue coming into play with extended writing sessions All in all, you won’t regret the purchase. The only reason I put 4 stars is because of the barrel and my hands, not because of a defect with the product. If I’d been able to I would have marked it 4.5.

Great pen for EDC, compliment getter and VERSATILE
I wanted to come back after a couple years of owning this pen and MAN I love it. The texturing on the grip is nice. It's enough to give your fingers a decent purchase without being so soft that it's only for show. I also love how durable the clip is without it being hard to slip over some thick denim jean pockets. The bolt action mechanism is perfect for me since I keep it in my pocket and won't accidentally click out and disperse ink all over me. The refill is pretty standard, but it's REALLY easy to pick up whatever Pilot G2 refill you want at big box stores or even here on Amazon. I've found that you *could* use a Sharpie SGel refill too, but only after shaving down the back end of the refill a tad. I personally prefer the G2 refills (I'm partial to the 0.5mm black ink refill) but you can totally easily mod an SGel refill if you prefer the way a sharpie gel pen writes.

A highly satisfying experience.
as a pen aficionado I have bought a LOT of pens in my life. This instantly was placed in the top 3. Pilot g2. the Pentel Energel. Now smootherpro. the bonus is the pen is heavy enough to not need to press into the paper as much. it does the word for you. Now I just get to focus on line quality. the bolt action works very well and only gets better and smoother with use.

Perfect for Pilot G2
I bought this as a write a lot at my job. I spent years hunting down the best pen and it is undoubtedly the Pilot G2. However, I didn't want to have to spend money on the full pen. And their plastic bodies break quickly. I found this and have been using for several months now, it's top tier! The Pilot G2 refills fit perfectly. The weight of the pen is nice. And the pen has functioned flawlessly since purchased! Best of all, everything is metal and threaded so nothing will break, at worst just need tightened! I would highly recommend.

Great inexpensive machined pen
It's a bare brass pen, satisfying mechanism, might need a tiny bit of grease in the mechanism to keep it operating smoothly. I found the ribbing on the grip section is way too sharp though. Smoothing those ribs off would make it much more comfortable. In fact that's what I did with some sandpaper. The pen is also very back-heavy due to the added brass bolt action mechanism in the back, but I'd imagine this is consistent will all bolt action machined pens. I'm overall happy with the purchase.

A ball pen that's a bit special, go on treat yourself.
A personal gift, a very well made and clever design of a pen, good to treat yourself to something a bit special BUT NOT to let someone borrow or you may never see it again ! The pen feels solid, quite weighty with a bolt action and writes very smoothly, very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon

Bueno y bonito.
