EDIT: Although I still love this product, after eight months it has become unreliable. Sometimes it opens almost all the way and stops, sometimes it doesn't rotate and open at all. It also is opening much much slower than it used to. The batteries are new. Something has gone wrong and I can't figure out what. It's never been dropped or come in contact with water. The clock works fine all the time ... it's just that I can no longer feel confident my girl will be fed on time if I'm not here to open and change the dish if it malfunctions. I hate to spend the money to replace it if there's a chance of the same outcome. Still leaving it as a 5 star hoping mine is the exception. ~~~~~~~~ PERFECT solution to feeding my food/treat motivated miniature poodle. She's on a prescription diet and eats 3 smaller meals daily. Sometimes I can't be home when she needs to eat and this makes both of our lives better. When her internal clock tells her it's close to meal time Piper will hang out near the feeder and the second she hears the gears start turning, she's ON IT (did I mention she looooves food?) It's very easy to set the timer and you can adjust it anytime you need to. This one has two timers as well as a digital clock on it. There are 3 compartments ... one is open/uncovered for first feeding and two that are safely covered until the timer rotates the compartments. The compartments will hold a good amount of food for a cat or smaller dog. This model won't accommodate quite a cup of kibble though, so probably won't work for a large dog. There are 3 pieces to this feeder not counting the freeze pack. It's very well made and quite sturdy. I bought an extra ice/freeze pack because sometimes I forget to pop it in the freezer in the evening. I recommend doing that unless you only feed kibble, in which case you won't need the freeze pack at all. All in all, this has been a life changer for me.

UPDATE: My kittens have used both of these a ton in the last few months and have never opened it up again. This leads me to believe it was user error. I love these feeders and they always work. Changing my vote to a 5/5. Original review: I guess before I start the review, I should mention what kind of cats I have. I have 2. I feed them a completely raw diet only and that makes it difficult to always be there to feed them 3 times a day. They brothers, but their breeds are a little different. One is American Shorthair, Siberian, and Turkish Angora. The other is American Shorthair, Siberian, Ragdoll, and Maine Coon. The Turkish Angora is insane when it comes to food and treats. Now the review, I want to love this product, I really do. I had hoped to put Freeze Dried treats in the compartments for almost all occasions so if I was out of town I wouldnt have to deal with Frozen Raw Food. The timer is awesome, I was able to eye sync it to the time on my phone, the mechanism is great as well. Where the product fails is the enclosure. My Turkish Angora was able to either flip it over and pin the machine against something and PRY the top off. Yikes. Clearly they are both a little too healthy and active. If the manufacturer could make the pins that you have to open the top harder to open I would appreciate it. Maybe make the indents that stick out longer so there's more grab. Besides that this is pretty good and if you have a cat that is not drunk for treats or food 24/7 I would highly recommend it. I will still use mine, as maybe this was just a fluke. Hard to say when it was the first day using it. I will update the score if it never happens again in a few months.

Decent feeder. I use this on weekends when visiting my long distance boyfriend. One dish is open before the first timer for meal one goes off. Once the meal is opened at its set time, it stays open until the next schedule feed, which is good for cats who graze. Sometimes my cat eats all the food and other times not. But he does this I think because I’m not there and he likes when I’m around to eat. The cooling feature, works so so. I don’t mind leaving it not cooled as he eats canned food that isn’t cooled normally and it sits out for a bit while he grazes.

This is a simple automatic feeder that serves its purpose well, and I have two. I don't use it as a primary method of feeding but rather have it set up at night to go off at 5am with some freeze dried snacks so my cats don't bother me in the early hours of the morning when they wake up and get frisky. Works great.

I got this for my cat who has to eat every 4 hours due to medical issue. It is a nice, sturdy product. Easy to use and easy to clean. I wish the feeding areas were not so deep as it makes it difficult for him to eat to the food but it is better than a not of others. This one does have a larger opening. It is very easy to take it apart to clean. It really is not practical for two servings of wet food as the second serving is over the batter case and not the ice pack. I am glad they have started carrying the replacement ice packs as mine only lasts a year before they started leaking. Setting the feeding times are challenging as you can't set it as you want. Any AM setting will automatically revert to the 1st time position so you can't set it in the evening to go off at 10PM and 2AM as it will change it to 2AM(1st) and 10PM (2nd). I had to buy two units to accomplish this (hmm....maybe that is on purpose). I wish it would stay in the order that you enter it.

I bought this for my Toy Poodle puppy who sometimes has to be by himself during the day and has to eat more than twice a day because of his small breed. This feeder has worked out perfectly. It has worked without fail so far and easy to set. I bought this style because I feed him wet food and the separate refreezable ice pack is perfect. He has come to know the sound the feeder makes when turning and comes running (I have watched him on my phone through a camera I have set up at home for monitoring him). This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It was inexpensive and is exactly what I needed for my puppy. He now just needs one of the automatic feedings. If you don't use all three compartments (two are for the auto feed and one is for the immediate feed that you give your pet) you can leave one of the compartments empty and turn the auto feed off on that compartment. Just be careful to be sure you fill the correct compartment for the auto feed. The tray moves counter-clockwise. The first time I cut back to one auto feed meal, I filled the wrong one and my poor pup missed his lunch. the tray has numbers on it, numbered 0 for the initial feeding and 1 & 2 for the auto feeds. Just be sure to place the tray in the correct position . I have been using this feeder for about 6 weeks now.

The first one malfunctioned and stopped rotating correctly and wouldn’t line up with the opening. Confused, I tried to force it back into place which broke the rotation mechanism (it warns not to do that, I saw the warning too late). I figured since the first time it broke had some element of human error I would shell out to replace the unit. It was past the return window. Until only 3 months after purchasing another unit the same thing started happening. It’s like the electronics in this thing malfunction extremely easily. It either rotates forever and randomly stops halfway between trays or doesn’t rotate at all, and some random days works as expected. My poor hungry cat has to come ask for food which defeats the purpose of this thing, and it’s so irritating to take the top off and find wasted lukewarm meals that were never rotated to the opening. I know I’m programming it correctly because it worked fine for about two months then started randomly malfunctioning. The ice pack design is also poorly executed. There is no insulation, the ice pack is insufficient in its placement under the meals, and melts after a few hours. If left in the unit more than that the whole unit starts to smell like mildew which lingers. I live in a desert so it’s not like it’s very humid here, I think the design it just not very effective to keep everything cool and the condensation breeds mildew in the warm enclosed environment. Just all around a terrible experience with this product. I wish I could get the $90 I wasted on two of these malfunctioning units back.

I love this product! I bought it so that my cats could eat dinner at a standard time even if I had to work late. Sometimes I also use it to set up breakfast at their standard time if I want to sleep in and not be woken by hungry cats. It doesn't work quite as it sounds, the three meals include the one you feed them in the moment then two more that can be set for later times. Essentially you could feed your cat in the morning and be gone for 24 hours and come back to him having eaten breakfast the next day. You could also use this to limit a cat's feeding window. If you set the two times 15 minutes apart, the bowl would turn and then turn again after 15 minutes recovering the food. They would learn that their feeding window is only 15 minutes and will eat accordingly (this can really help if you have a cat that grazes and then leaves food for the fat cat/dog to come by later and eat). Pros: 1. Cats haven't broken into it like the one with the lid. Because the feeding tray is open and the next meal is hidden under the top of the device, the cats really can't break in. I had a feeder in the past where a lid moved over the feeding tray to hide the next meal, but they could easily lift the lid and get the food. 2. Cats can get used to a set feeding time and can even be uninterrupted by daylight savings if you don't change the times on the machine. 3. The ice packs keep the food cool and give me peace of mind about leaving wet food out for 12 hours. (NOTE: I don't put dry on top of the wet and leave it because the water in the wet food can cause bacteria to grow in the dry food. I just feed either wet or dry only). 4. The cats definitely know when its dinner time because the machine makes a clearly audible sound when the trays rotate. Cons: 1. The ice packs don't keep the food super cold. It's not like a cooler where you food can stay at a safe temperature for long periods, but it does keep the food cool and might be helpful if you live in a hot climate. 2. The loud sound it makes when rotating the dish can scare your cat. I have two cats, one didn't care at all the first time i introduced it and just immediately started eating. The other one acted like the bowl was going to rotate again when he put his head in and was pretty afraid of it. I started by putting some treats in there for him and eventually just left him to figure it out. He was really hungry so his only option was to eat out of the machine. Eventually he became used to it and it doesn't scare him now. But just give your cat time if they don't like it at first. 3. My biggest beef with this machine is the design of the food troughs. They are triangular in shape and as the cats eat, the food gets pushed into the corners. It would be nice if the troughs were round like a cat's regular food dish. It doesn't really matter too much, but i do find food left uneaten when it gets shoved into the corners. All in all, a great product. Would highly recommend.

Let me start by saying I could live with out this. We had to by two at the same time and it felt like a huge outlay. But with young cats on a more frequent eating schedule, than a full grown one. As they are fans of wet food, the sealed units are brilliant abs they do eat the food even at the end of the day. This has meant we can go for a long day out, or an evening out and know they have their food at regular intervals, on their normal schedule. Once the cats are older and we can leave them over night, we know they will still keep to their eating schedule, with fresh food. It is easy to set up. Read the instructions - I may have jumped in and it took me a little longer to get it right. The freezer packs are great. The dishes go in the dishwasher, so easy to clean. The main unit is easy to wipe down. The unit is rather big, and very different from the normal food dish arrangement, but ours get on with it fine - our boy cat is a sensitive soul and struggles with change, so I try and leave a few biscuits in one of these so it smells of food and he associates it with meals. It can be a little bit noisy when the dish moves round - but I’ve noticed it does act as a call to food, so that can’t be bad. I would really recommend this if you have cats who need an early morning feed, or if you have a change to your routine but want your cats to stay on theirs.

Avrete almeno 5 minuti di calma, più il tempo per la pennichella post prandiana. Inoltre vi permette di erogare il cibo se siete fuori casa per lavoro o impegni. La ciotola è fatta davvero bene, materiali robusti e a prova di scassinamento. Si può anche fissare ad un pannello per evitare che il gatto sposti la ciotola. Facile da programmare e da pulire. Non è proprio immediato capirne il funzionamento, avrei gradito che mettessero delle frecce per aver chiaro il senso di rotazione e anche il numero dello scompartimento a vista dentro la ciotola, ma sono finezze. Ho notato che a volte il meccanismo si sfasa, forse perché il gatto ci mette lo zampino…. e quindi il settore dello scompartimento non è ben allineato con l’apertura. Di solito basta farla ruotare per rimetterla a posto. Utile il ghiacciolo da freezer per conservare fresco il pasto, sarebbe stato utile averne anche un secondo da alternare.
