is this the same thing as “the beauty foundry clarifying tea tree beauty oil”?

Yes! It is the exact same thing. I first found this at TJmax but you know if you see it once, you'll never see it again there. So I was skeptical of buying online, that was not directly from Beauty Foundry. It looks and smells the same, and has an unbroken seal. So brand new. I compared it with the box I brought from TJmax to confirm.

Would I use this oil day and night or just at night?

Its up to you and your skin's needs, but we recommend using it day and night.

Any recommendations on what I should use to clean my skin before using this product?

I have been using Shea Moisture Black skin clarifying soap for blemishes etc. Then I put Tea tree oil on. I even cover my face with tiny amount under my makeup instead of primer.
