If your device curently has windows hello (surfacebook) will this product work for windows hello when the device is docked?

You should go to "Device Manager" to disable the built-in IR camera, so that ours will work for your surfacebook when docked. re-enable the built-in camera, so that you can use the surface camera again. but ours can not work. Comment: Windows Hello cannot try multiple cameras at this point. because there is no option to Switch.

Does present computer password has to be remove?

No. when you are ready to install this device on your computer, first you need to set the Computer administrator password (present computer password), and next you need to set the PIN if you haven't alreadywhen those steps are finished, you can log in to your computer with your face, no need any passwords next timewhen you want to remove this device from your computer, you can also use the present computer password or PIN to log in your computer again.hope this helps you

How good does this work in low light or night

Yes, this ir cam works Perfect in sunlight, artificial light, and even almost no light, or night. and this IR emitters don't need additional illumination to function. 1s fast detection login windows in low light or night

The camera does not work with windows hello on very recent window 10 builds. do i need an updated driver?

You mean windows 10 Fall Creator Update( version 1709, OS build 16299.19), released on October 2017. Yes , the camera works well on this windows 10 version. just make sure your PC is not in a domain( If your PC is in a domain their is a Group Policy setting that needs to be changed so that the camera will work, because security policies may broke many of the Windows Hello features), and then download the driver from website (you can find the website in the user manual), and then set up windows hello.
