As a teacher for 38 years I have had my Acme Thunderer my entire career. So when I had a brand new teacher as part of my grade level team, I got this for her as a welcome gift, attached to a cute lanyard. She loves it and I hope she has it her whole career as well. They are amazing whistles and very loud - no kid can ignore you on the playground, even if they're far away. Super useful!

Solid, reliable, loud, clear, whistle!!
I have one of these whistles in/on each of my backpacks, hiking fanny pack, ski jackets. If in trouble, 3 blasts lets anyone within range know that you need help or are in trouble. Also great for coaching (sports, etc.). Loud, clear, reliable, built like a tank!! Really the standard for high quality!!

50 years of ownership and works like the day I bought it.
I have owned my Acme Trunderer for 50 years. I purchased this in 1976. Originally for hiking and camping. That was before cell phones and Map Quest was a typographical map and a compass. It was easy to get off trail and get lost. And, yes, I can speak from experience. Blowing this whistle will definitely get everyone's attention. There is a lot of history with this whistle. I purchased 3 of them for family members. Mainly for my granddaughter so she can have a lot of safe adventures. The other 2 were given to my son and daughter in law. I recommend everyone get one. put it on your key chain and a lanyard while kayaking. Keep safe out there!
