need a 1" board to clamp it on.
Nice grooming post for small dogs, its sturdy and collapses down to fit in a drawer. My Shi-Tzu is about 10 lbs and she fits very well under it. My only complaint is that the clamp only allows you to clamp it to boards only about 1-1/2" thick, which makes it impossible to use on many tables.

Clamp does not work on thicker table,or counter tops
Returns are not free if it doesn't work for you.The clamp won't fit on a lot of tables or counters as the bite is fixed and narrow. For tables with a narrow lip the new is long which would make it sturdy which is a good thing

Not as adjustable as expected
This is a very sturdy post. But--- I was unable to move the horizontal piece forward. It seems to be frozen.Also, I was disappointed that the screw-down "vice" that attaches it to a table has a very narrow opening even when opened fully. I was not able to attach it to the table on which I wanted to use it.
