Close up magic.
Highly recommended for the person with an interest in electronics and even just someone into macrophotography. Nice pictures, interesting explanations, even a section on how the photography was done. In all honestly, a coffee table book, but very pleased with it.

A birthday cake for nerds and hobbyists
"Open Circuits" is an engaging blend of technical insight and pure intelligence, making it a delightful read for anyone interested in electronics. This book simplifies complex concepts and brings the world of circuits to life. What I found particularly valuable was its transformation into a practical troubleshooting guide, providing essential tips and clear diagrams for addressing common circuit issues. Overall, "Open Circuits" is not only entertaining but also an invaluable resource for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists, making it a must-read for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of electronics.

A Mine Of Information....
A very informative compendium of beautifully photographed electronic components that reveals their innermost secrets through carefully dissected cross-sections....often sliced from resin cast mouldings that retain all those intricate elements that would otherwise collapse without encapsulation. No matter what one's level of expertise, this volume fleshes out all those half-understood hidden workings of encased silicon, carbon, gold, lead, or copper, with detailed images and fully descriptive explanatory text.

Art and artful - well worth a place on the bookcase
Stunningly beautiful and highly informative. My 8 year old has pored over this book, and we’ve had some fantastic family time discussing facets of it. Glad we have our own copy rather than borrowing from a library. It really is worth the (not inconsiderable) cost. Highly recommended for the electronics geek and their enablers!

Bloody brilliant and beautiful book
As I retired engineer this was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I can say I wish I had this book at University it would have made my microelectronics course a lot easier. A very well made book with just enough detail to peak your Curiosity and encourage you to dig deeper. The photography is fantastic. Everyone who is even slightly interested is how modern technology and society is powered should have this book. A great book altogether. Suitable for all ages

Really cool STEM book.
I originally bought this for my husband (though I’ll admit I’ve been just as fascinated by it myself!). The photographs are absolutely stunning. The concept is so simple, yet brilliant—it gives you a glimpse inside everyday objects you’d never normally get to see. I can’t decide whether it satisfies the urge to take things apart or actually encourages even more curiosity to do so. Either way, it’s captivating. It would also make a fantastic STEM-inspired book for kids.
