A great value for a very fine Tenor uke!
This is a wonderful kit to buy as a beginner, intermediate or "beach/camping" ukulele player who wants to try a tenor size uke. I have been playing a concert-sized Cordoba 15CM for the past couple of years and I love the sound and quality of that instrument, but wanted to try the slightly larger size of a tenor ukulele. I did a lot of research and the Ranch product received enough rave reviews that I figured I'd try it. It has turned out to greatly exceed my expectations in all respects. Pros: - great quality construction - the wood and polish look very rich and don't look cheap at all - keeps in tune - fullyw enclosed all-metal tuning gears - includes Aquila nylgut strings (these make all the difference in sound and play) - frets are well placed, smooth, and the right height for fast chording - the slightly rounded back helps make the sound rich and quite loud without sounding tinny or cheap Cons: - the included tuner device is okay, but not great... I use my KLIQ Ubertuner instead (it's great!) - I don't usually use a strap when playing, but I found that the included strap is just okay for holding the instrument, if you want to use a strap at all. - This Ranch tenor uke weighs only about an ounce heavier than my concert sized Cordoba, even though it's 3 inches longer and the center of gravity is about an inch further up the neck than the Cordoba concert uke. It feels a little "neck heavy" to me because the body is so light, but I got adjusted pretty easily to this. All in all, I think this is a great sounding, high quality, easy to play ukulele that I'm happy to use for pretty much any purpose and proud to take to jam sessions.

Awesome Uke for first-timers!!
I got this uke as a gift to my girlfriend for xmas and she loves it! She has some experience on guitar and is picking it up quite quick. I have also been playing around on it and coming up with some little ditties (while I should be working, lol). I have a background in guitar and bass (although very rusty:) so am picking it up pretty easy as well, but took a minute getting used to the gCEA tuning; getting chords transposed and figured out from what I'm used to. It really is a blast to play tho! The ukulele itself is beautiful and well built! Much more so than I was expecting for the price point. It plays really well, stays in tune and sounds excellent compared to some of the other cheaper ones I've heard. The case and tuner, extra strings and strap are all a great added bonus and all work as expected! I would definitely recommend this purchase, besides from the fact it is a quality product, it has gotten us both back into playing music and having another creative outlet, which is a win-win. We are both having fun learning new songs and techniques; I will most definitely be buying another at some point so we can jam it out together. I attached a video example to see it in action:)

A Very Happy Teacher
A small story of how I found the Ranch Ukulele. I am a high school teacher of 30+ years and for the first time ever am facilitating several independent studies classes. One young man selected the music industry careers as his topic for the semester. I asked if he played an instrument and his response of "no, but I want to" started a group quest to find what might work for him. Fairly soon I was working with half a dozen students wanting to try the Ukulele. One of the young men said he know someone who could play and would ask him to come to teach some of the basics. He agreed and the quest for instruments began. After several days of research, begging family and friends to help, we finally received a couple of classroom instruments. One teacher, six students, and 2 ukuleles make learning next to impossible. One of the girls told me she found the ukulele she was going to get for class. Her eagerness to share the find caused me to slow down and take a look. She had actually found a ukulele that was not too expensive and looked a lot better than the "toy" ones she first wanted. I agreed to order it for her and she could pay me back in installments. Fast-forward to now, I also learned that the young man who was teaching us had a bumper sticker on the back of his ukulele that covered the rather large crack which happened when he either dropped it or his sister sat on it. He liked the Tenor size because of his "sausage fingers" and the sound, so I ordered THIS Ranch Tenor with him in mind. I wish I would have recorded his first reaction to this Ukulele. He was very surprised to find out how much I paid and kept reinforcing his Hawaiian ukulele was three times that amount. HE LOVED THE SATIN FINISH because he has sweaty hands and the high gloss varnish causes a slippery grip. His praise of the Ranch ukulele has not stopped since the first day I let him play it. Ukulele fever is spreading and I believe we have found one of the BEST Beginner Ukuleles Amazon has to offer. Hope the videos convey the quality in construction, the sound, and the fun of play.

Enexpensive ukulele but pretty nice.
Box was a little beat but the instrument was in good shape. Sounded pretty good for the money. Nice carry bag. I wish it would have had an adjustable truss rod. Played ok. Nice looking!

Better than expected
I am a beginner on the Uke but have played guitar for ~25 years which made this transition an easy one. I didn’t actually expect as much but the common chord voicings are super easy to remember and play! I say this because if you’re a guitarist of (any genre) and you’ve thought about broadening/experimenting instrument-wise, I really think this would be a lot of fun at an extremely low learning curve for you! This particular ukulele (Ranch Concert size) is quite comfortable and easy to play and I have sausage-fingers! It’s quite easy to tune once you figure out the top-most string (where the “low E” would reside on a guitar) is tuned to a higher note (G) than the next string down (C) and then (E) and finally (A) which is just one step above the G string. If you’re not too familiar with nylon-type strings just keep in mind that it can take up to 3 days for them to stabilize and stop stretching, thus going out of tune. I recommend tuning them very high (+50 cents) and play on them for a few then retune them up high again and repeating this until you’re done playing for a while and tuning them +50 high again before you put the uke away. This should expedite the process pretty good. As far as sound goes it’s tone is very nice. But as I said I *am* a beginner when it comes to this instrument however, it does have a bright clear ring to it with warmer undertones and a great projection of audible goodness! The construction of this little dude doesn’t leave anything to be desired in my opinion either. Well made with properly cut fret-wires and no jagged edges. Intonation is spot-on as well as the string action (height) is perfect also. All in all this banana-handed guitar player recommends this little ukulele.

Great Beginner Ukulele
I've had my Ukulele for just short of four months now and I'm really impressed. I have some friends who are also learning now and while this is still a laminate ukulele it has a much sturdier and less "plasticy" feel to it. Obviously at four months, I can't say how long this will last but comparatively, I feel like this ukulele will be around a lot longer. It has stayed in tune really well and I love the classic look of this ukulele and the design on the rosette. It has a nice tone to it and has stayed in tune really well. It also projects really well and can play quite loud. I have the tenor and recognize that influences volume compared to my friends soprano's and concert's but I think overall this ukulele just projects better than theirs. The case it came with is pretty thick and seems well made and durable. I also like the tuner that came with the ukulele. My sister got a different ukulele around the same time and her tuner is kind of a pain. This one clips on so easily and is really easy to use. I also appreciated that the strap buttons were already installed. I wasn't sure at first if I'd want to play with a strap or not but I found it much more comfortable with and the idea of installing those myself was quite daunting. This is my first venture into string instruments and I've really enjoyed it!

Great starter kit for beginners!
To start, just because this is for beginners doesn't mean it's cheap quality. I was super impressed with the quality of the wood and the sound resonating from the uke. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this item due to some negative reviews regarding the quality of the wood and the print. However, I was pleased to find that this is the real deal. The tuner that came with the uke also included batteries, which is nice. I also liked the cleaning cloth and the extra strings, though there probably wouldn't be a need for them. Not gonna lie, the strap was hard to attach to the uke. Since it was new, the threading hole needed to be stretched a bit. Thankfully, after the first installment, it became easier as it got used to it. Lastly, the case. I absolutely love the case! It is sturdy, has a carrying strap, and can fit all the extras it came with in the front pocket. The case seems of good build and looks like it won't wear for a while. Taking all these into consideration, I would buy without a moment of hesitation. For the uke itself, it didn't take me very long until I was playing simple songs. I can't say for anybody else (since everyone learns at a different pace), but with practice, this is a great instrument to learn!

Excellent beginners ukekele!
After the lockdown started I proceeded my myself I would use the extra time to learn a new skill. I ended up buying this and a set of juggle balls. I still can't juggle but I can play the uke like an old pro! I'm six months in and can honestly say if you're looking for a beginners ukekele, this is it. Superb value for the money. The ukekele itself has rich sound, the strings it comes with are quality, and the pegs hold really well. As far as the accessories go, I do have two very small complaints. The picks were very cheap, though good picks aren't expensive and even those wear out so it's not a huge deal. Also the tuner flakes out a bit sometimes and, at first, lacked the range I needed to undo my toddlers love for turning the tuning keys. Luckily there's an app for that. It's very well built and very worth the price.

Bin zufrieden.

Title: Good instrument, but sizing and seller pricing issues!
The ukulele itself is genuinely very good, there is no doubt about its quality. However, being a concert type (23 inches), it is not ideal for absolute beginners. The fretboard is quite small, which makes it difficult to play if you are just starting out. For total beginners, a tenor size would be a much better option. Due to the small fretboard, I had to return it. More importantly, I feel cheated by the seller because they charged me double the actual price. While the instrument is great, please be aware of the size and check the pricing carefully before buying.
