I LOVED DARK CAROUSEL!! - CHRISTINE FEEHAN IS BACK!! WOW!! Did she make a splash of a return. I feel like an old lost friend has been found and returned to me. I have been reading Christine's books since 1998 and for the past 1 1/2 I felt disappointed in her books. But what a come back she has made. Dark Carousel is exciting, the battles with Vadim Malinov whom fans that have read all 30 books in the Dark Series will know is using Xavier's old techniques with a new an modern twist to kill all Carpathian's and Humans alike. Vadim is almost as gruesome in his torture as Xavier was. There are similarities from prior books Dark Curse and Dark Slayer and a little bit of Dark Legend. These similarities have been modernized and expanded on. They have a whole new twist to them. The Carpathian World has grown bigger an moved into the 21st century. We get to meet new Ancient Carpathians and the new world order of Human Hunters. The Morrison center is back in play. The repeated sex scenes have been greatly reduced, so no one can complain about that. Dark Carousel is all about the story and the romance between two wonderful lead characters Tariq Asenguard who is an ancient Carpathian Hunter and Charlotte Vintage who restores old paintings and carousels. Tariq is everything you hope for an more in a Carpathian Hunter. He is all Alpha Male. Long time fans have been waiting for his story for years and they wont be disappointed in him. Oh I want a Tariq of my own!! I just love him and Charlotte is a brave and intelligent human with psychic abilities her an Tariq are perfect Lifemates and grew to have a beautiful romance and love for one another, build on mutual respect and equal partnership. I love Charlotte too. I guess the only problem I had with the story was the abuse of children, but I can't see how the story would not have been as strong and compelling if that awfulness hadn't accrued. The children are from the novella Dark Crime. In Dark Carousel we learn of there plight when they were captured by Vampires in Dark Crime. But somehow CF was able to tell there story without too much gory details. We have to use our imagination to figure out how bad they had been scared and tortured by Vadim and his puppets. Christine Feehan has really UPPED HER GAME!! She is the Queen on Paranormal Romance and has returned with her old style of writing but at the same time bringing the Carpathian World into the 21st Century. I have been one of her critics of her past few books, but now I eat my words. I hope she stays on this path!! and I can't wait for the next Dark Book. BRAVO CHRISTINE FEEHAN!!! VERY WELL DONE!! Reading Progress Review: Dark Carousel...Book 30 of The Dark Series.... - This is the thirtieth novel in Christine Feehan's Dark Paranormal romance and I really liked this one a lot. You can read as a standalone, however I like to read all of them. This is the story of Charlotte Vintage and Tariq Asenguard, an ancient Carpathian Warrior, who in his youth carved Carousels out of wood. Tariq had reached out to Charlotte's mentor, to come and look at the carousel, but he was killed! Charlotte had learned the art of restoration from this man, and is fascinated by the past, so she decides to go visit Tariq and see the carousel. Before this could happen though her brother was killed and left his 3 year old daughter Lourdes so Charlotte and her best friend Genevieve, whose boyfriend and a family member had been killed all around the same time. These women had gone into a psychic center in France and they were followed. The women wind up at Tariq's nightclub and are using themselves as bait to draw out the men following them. Tariq recognizes Charlotte as his lifemate and looks for her and right when he finds her and her friend, a master vampire is trying to take her! I really liked this book because there is always something going on, a great plot, a love story, Tariq is protecting four children from the vampire as well. In her enthusiasm for the beautiful carousel Tariq shows her, Charlotte touches it after he told her to wait and something happens. Read on and find out what happens. I love these books because they add to the characters as they go along, but always bring up some of the characters from other books. I gave this book 5***** and now I am all caught up, so am waiting for the next one!!

Love as always!!
Book Review- Dark Carousel by Christine Feehan Charlotte Vintage and Genevieve Marten have finally decided to take control of their lives. They know they are being stalked by a murderer. They just don’t know who it is and they need to figure it out to protect Lourdes. They catch the attention of three creepy guys at the local club. Charlie and Vi have a feeling these guys have been following them and might be the ones they are looking for. They need to leave first and follow the men to see. That’s the plan. It doesn’t happen that way. A new threat stakes out Charlotte’s car and she gets the attention of Tariq Asenguard, nightclub owner. He picks up her scent and follows her. He joins Charlie and Vi in their standoff against the murderer stalking them, the vampire Fredrick. Charlie and Vi have gained the attention of the group of vampires hunting the area. They are both in danger. Tariq and the other hunters in the area come to the rescue. Both women and little Lourdes end up staying on Tariq’s property. Charlie is Tariq’s lifemate and her introduction into Tariq’s world is full of fear and violence. Tariq and Charlotte work together to keep all the children, Vi and Emmeline safe. I love this series. New hunters are being introduced in this book as are possible mates in the female characters. I know these characters will show up again in future books. My favorite from this book was Charlotte. She was brave and strong for her size. Her empathy endeared her to the rest of the characters in the book. Her gift is unique. The author continues to incorporate new abilities and enemies to fight as the war seems to rage between the Carpathians and the vampires. There is always some conflict that leads to danger and fight scenes. The women were at the center of the book as they were the ones being stalked. I like how the author has switched the focus from the hunters being targets to the women being the targets. The hunters are forced to band together. More characters are introduced to keep things rolling. In this story Tariq is protector of women and children. He has a heart of gold which the reader sees right away. I also liked how they meet. He picks up her scent and comes to her rescue. Then throw in the stories of the children and you have a recipe of a great story. I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Astounding. Book 30? This series just gets better and better. The amount of new characters that begin to mix in with previous characters is amazing. I loved reading more of the triplets, cant wait for their stories. Loved hearing more from blaze and emme. There was a lot of action in this book, more than I had thought. The writing is fantastic, and passionate. I love these books! Still as good as the first Carpathian book, if not better.
