After 40 years I got back into the Rubik's cube. Just thought I'd get a cheap timer, other than just using my phone. Am impressed with this unit, although I just use it for myself it has many functions to allow multi player. Not yet used the 3.5mm jack to connect to my computer. It does require 2 AAA batteries to run, not supplied. The two touch pads are very resposive, although it is plastic ... It is good quality plastic. Yes they are ' touch ' pads but whenever you are doing a timing thing people don't tend to touch just to stop. When they finish it is more of a 'hit' than 'touch' if you know what I mean and this is pretty solid so should stand up to that. The display is an old school LCD like you used to have on calculators, but slightly curved just to look good. Works well but no backlight as far as I can see. Has a good manual with it, see one of the photos. For those wanting more this is part of a whole package, Qiyi also do mats and this package includes the mounts to connect to that as well as displays for club / proffesional use. The timer can also be used pretty much for any other games you want to play on your own or with friends. Price is around right for this, have no problem recommending it from an amateur perspective.

I am not myself a speed cuber, but I can imagine people doing that habitually will find this very useful to check their performance. This said something quite similar con be achieved with a phone app, which will presumably have more functions and remember your performance across multiple attempts. It does not come with batteries, annoyingly (rechargeable work fine). But obviously a hardware device such as this is more impressive, it makes for a nice present to somebody very much into the hobby. The external output produces a tone, I guess some app might be able to recognize it, but it is not a USB data connection.

My boys are really keen on improving their time solving the Rubiks cube. This is an ideal toy to help them do this. It seems to be very accurate, I don’t see why you wouldn’t use one of these even if you are very fast. A good price, and highly recommended. I like this palm time stopper in competition. I like this it is a great way for preparation of rubic cube competition . This is same as regularly used in speed competition. I like it that only by the touch of full palm can stop the time . I can record my trials . It has strong material. Reliable , and AAA battery operated . I like it .
