Fit perfectly and looks great!
Hubby built the fire pit with cinderblocks and ordered this insert going by the measurements, and it fit perfectly. Really upgrades the look of our fire pit. We've used it several times since he built it (October 2024) and we think it is a great fit! Easy to assemble and was shipped securely so there was no damage. Good quality and we are very happy with this fire ring insert.

Sturdy, packed and shipped with care, seems to be a better value than similar rings.
This product arrived undamaged in very secure packaging with wood, zip ties and cellophane wrap to protect the pieces. Assembly was easy. I put the screws with the nuts out for a more flush look on a finished fire pit. For the fire pit, aiming for a "smokeless" design as seen in many youtube videos, I used two layers of 4 x 11.75 x 6.75 wall block and topped it off with 2 x 12 x 8 wall caps from a big box store. I cut the wall caps and a few of the blocks on the second level with a diamond masonry circular saw blade that was around $15 from the big box store. Also I removed the "lip" on the second levelof blocks so they would fit flush with the bottom level. The bottom layer of wall blocks has relatively equal gaps of about 2 inches for air inflow to the ring. I drilled 1/2" holes at 2" spacing on center near the top (marked on painter's tape) and deburred them with a dremel tool and touched them up with por-15 high temp black paint. Under the pit are two bags of paver base (fine gravel). Inside, I used a bag of lava rock under an inexpensive fire grate. (Amazon: VBENLEM 28in Fire Grate Log Grate ,Wagon Wheel Firewood Grates 16 Iron ). It is relatively smoke-free once it is burning hot after 30 to 45 minutes. If the fire wanes a bit, it will start smoking, so it works best to keep it hot. Once I was satisfied with the fire pit, I glued all the cement blocks together with Fuze*It All Surface Adhesive LN-2000, which is recommended by the manufacturer for fire pits. The picture of the wall blocks stacked with the wall cap is next to this fire ring, which was upside down for ease of measuring these against each other. The height is a close match - the blocks being possibly 1/4" higher than the fire ring. I have the ring resting on top of the caps on final assembly and there is around 1/4" gap at the bottom which I can block with paver base or lava rocks as needed to keep most of the fresh air coming through the top holes, while still allowing some fresh air to the grate and logs. This fire ring was made in India.

It's a ring of metal, what do you want?
I bought this based on another YT review where the user made a smokeless fire pit with it. The first shipment went to limbo (unknown what happened to it) but the seller was top notch and shipped another out ASAP. the replacement came pretty well packaged but the box was worse for the wear. Assembly is super easy with 3 bolts/nuts in each of the 4 sections. I wound up modifying it by drilling a set of holes near the top as well as larger holes near the bottom of the ring (for the smokeless feature). I used a unibit (step bit) to do this. After deburring, I used some rust reformer spray paint to coat the exposed metal (hopefully prevent rust) then high heat spray paint for the entire unit. The smokeless feature doesn't seem to be working that well, but that's not the fault of the ring.

Perfect for an outdoor fireplace
We were able to make the perfect fireplace in our backyard. We put stones around it and it has stayed very durable. I haven't seen any rust on it so far, and the size is perfect! Well worth the money!

Great fire pit insert
The insert makes it easier to build using blocks from a big box home improvement store that looks like a custom fire pit. Just stack blocks to fit around the ring and fill with about three bags of gravel.

So far so good
So far, so good. Had it for about a month now uncovered in my newly built hardscape firepit and it still looks good. Haven't had a fire going yet, but it's not rusted out like some other cheap firepit metal would by now.
