The best quality for the money
These Channellock 338's are probably the best cutting pliers you can get for the price. They do not have the finest finish (see images) compared to the top tier German and Japan alternatives, but they are not 2x the price either. The blades are perfectly aligned with no gap, they cut through the recommended wire/metal gauges with ease, and they feel solid and durable. Time will tell how long they last, but my first impressions are great. The images you see are right out of package, with the initial grease cleaned off.

It cuts OK
Nice tool just not happy with the overall unit. It does cut fine. I found the 20 year old pair I'd misplaced so this tool went to the emergency tool box

USA made and what one can expect from Channellock
First pair is about 25 years old. It's dulled from all the stuff cut over this years though not abused. This newer leverage point makes cutting much nicer. Had pulled trim off for a floor replacement and some of the 18 ga. brad nails along with other finish nails were refusing to come out with the pry bars. These cut through them easily. Hands still hurt after a couple hours from this task but much easier with these. Next time I get some young kid to cut the nails down. ;) Happy with this purchase it makes the job easier which is efficient. Also debated the Knipex but wanted a USA tool.
