There's definitely a learning curve to getting used to / understanding how to program all the light channels and timer. But once you get the hang of it it's relatively straightforward to use. The mounting clip works really well I like that it's all metal and the gooseneck design of the light lets me move it to get optimal light coverage anywhere on my tank

Another review stated that the light will not come on with a timer, and this is incorrect. You can use this light with a third-party, regular light timer and this light will turn off and on, retaining the setting it was previously on. The reason I got this light is because my prior light came in a kit and needed to have a button pushed to come on with a timer. This light fixed that problem for me. I'd like to set the program using the remote, but it's far too cumbersome. You will not like the configuration process. Further, if the remote has the batteries replace, I believe you lose the config. The light quality is far superior to the basic LEDs I had. Between the quality of the light, my basic needs that this light puts out, and the sale price I purchased at, it's worth it to me. If this sounds like you, it'd be worth short-listing this one, but if you want to set up a more complex schedule, be prepared for some counter-intuitive, and often frustrating effort to set up. **EDIT/UPDATE** After having this light running for a few days, I can say that it runs extremely cool despite my expectations. The unit has a fan which runs when certain modes are at 100%. The fan stops whirring around 70%, but even with the light at 100% brightness, the fan is consistent and quiet. It's almost as if it's unnecessary, but definitely nice to know it's there. Still recommend this light if what I describe fits your use case.

This light works amazing for my planted tank. It’s super bright, the colors look vibrant, and my plants are growing beautifully. I really like the flexible arm — it’s sturdy and easy to adjust exactly where I need it. The dimmer and timer features are a big plus, making it easy to control the lighting schedule. For the price of $50 bucks, the light doesn't come with automatic on and off timer for ease of use… just an off timer you have to manually turn on every morning… light is self was good and bright. Unfortunately it did have a burning smell, not sure if it will go away as i am returning the product. Also the fan noise is definitely noticeable, and turns on at 40% power, very annoying. But if is not in your bedroom, light it self is good, very bright and can see simmer too. Just not usable for me in my bedroom, as I’m a light sleeper. My small review to save you the trouble of returning the product. Cons: -burning smell (could just be my product) -fan noise -no build in automatic timer Pros: -light -build quality seems good -small form factor/clip on

Not sure what the wifi button on the remote does, but it works great.

The light itself is fine, but the built-in timer is laughable. It turns on about 10 minutes earlier every day, so I have to keep resetting it each week if I want it to have a normal day/night cycle. I thought we mastered simple timer technology like 50 years ago?
