This was my first foray into sous vide and I'm delighted to say that I made a great choice. This cooker was inexpensive and has cooked lamb chops, steak, and veggies to perfection. I started using a regular pot and then purchased a Rubbermaid pot with a lid - both worked to perfection. If you're thinking about diving into sous vide, this is a great way to begin.

wanted to try this type of cooking, didn't want to spend an arm and leg for one to try. much to my surprise, this unit worked better than some I know others have. didn't want a blue tooth model so this is prefect. it keeps water with in +/- .3 degrees of set temp. I have done some long cooks with it worked great easy to clean easy to use.

I bought this unit less than a year ago and it's dead. Plug it in and nothing happens. I give it two stars because when it worked, it worked great.UPDATE: I have increased the rating to 3 stars because of the great customer service. The sous vide was replaced immediately at no cost when I contacted the seller.

Superb ! This device does everything as advertised and is an excellent addition to my cooking tools.I have only had the pleasure of working with this device for a week or so, but it has served me well with beef, pork, and poultry.I will try using it to prepare cheesecake next week.For surface browning, I have used a torch flame, propane grilling, charcoal grilling, and my iron skillet...all with great success.The greatest advantage of this method of cooking, to me, is the fact that exact timing is not critical like it is with other methods. Using my charcoal grill, for instance, plus or minus 3-5 minutes can make a steak inedible to someone who likes it cooked to a specific point doneness.With my Slaiya, I can cook a steak to a specific doneness ALL THE WAY THROUGH...end to end and top to bottom !The Sous Vide method allows me to err by perhaps an hour or more with NO detrimental results. This allows me to prepare other accompanying dishes which may or may not be finished at exactly the time expected such that the entire meal can be served hot.

Unit works great. I had one issue which was promptly rectified by the supplier upon notification. Looking forward to long-term usage.I like that it just a simple set the temp & time and let it go. No bluetooth connection to monkey with. Our favorite results so far have been with strip steaks, chuck roasts, and lamb chops.

I had seen a Sous Vide immersion cooker used a few times on the food network & my mother in law raves about hers. She kept telling us how great the meats were that she cooked with it so we decided to give it a shot. We love this thing! It's easy to use and the beef comes out great. One thing we really like is that steaks can be cooked ahead of time and simply tossed on the grill for a minute to charbroil the outside. They come out perfect every time. The temperature is kept constant throughout the entire cooking process and we can just set it and walk away to do other things. It's pretty much fool proof. We haven't experimented much with it aside from cooking steaks, but after watching some you tube videos, we are going to try some new things.

I absolutely love this contraption! I Just received it 3 days ago. I cooked filet mignon last night and chicken breasts tonight. The BEST I’ve ever cooked them. Both super tender and full of flavor. Already have pork chops sealed in the bag for tomorrow’s dinner. So easy to use and no more standing over a grill or a stove. I think it makes the flavor better than the grill. The only complaint I have is the dial to set the the temperature goes a little fast, it’s a little wheel that you turn on the side. But no biggy! I may purchase another one so I can cook multiple items at the same time. Highly recommend
