Matter and Zigbee capable hub
Brought this hub to add Matter and zigbee connectivity to my smart home. Out of the box the hub isn't matter capable it comes with firmware 1.5.6 and has to be upgraded to firmware 2.1.0 which took a few resets of the hub for it to push a firm upgrade to me. But once done I was able to add matter devices to it and view those matter devices along with this panel in the ewelink app and could then set routines similar to I.F.T.T.T between my old ewelink devices and my new matter device even though the matter device is from a different manufacturer to sonoff/ewelink. I also added a sonoff zigbee door sensor which took a couple of rests of the door sensor to add the panel which was then also displayed in my ewelink app. If you want you can also voice call the panel from the ewelink app which works well whether my phone is on WiFi or mobile signal, I have t done much else with it yet but may consider the sonoff ihost at a later date to add local control to my smart home.

Works with Home Assistant, eventually (a quick how-to)
Sonoff have always supported the maker community and home assistant, so when I found out that they'd locked us out of ADB over TCPIP in v1.2 I was quite disappointed, it could still be accessed via USB by taking the device apart, which is ok, but it would be beter if it was enabled by default, or from the devices' about screen. In version 1.4, they seemed to disable the ability to enable ADB via USB also, making it really tricky to use this device in the smart home- their core customers. Not a cool move Sonoff. I guess they heard everyone moaning on the forums, because in v1.5.6, they added ADB over TCPIP again, enabled via the eWeLink app. The version I received was 1.4.0. This version cannot be placed into ADB mode without disassembly. The way to do it is to update the firmware to 1.5.6 via the 'settings' screen in the NSPanelPro. Once this has been done, install the eWeLink app ON YOUR PHONE. In the app: Add->Device. Scan the barcode that's displayed on the NSPanelPro after completing the panel setup wizard. In the eWeLink App, select your device -> go to settings -> tab 'Device ID' 8 times until it shows a popup warning. Accept the warning. ADB mode is now enabled. Click USB debugging, turn it on. You can now uninstall the eWeLink app from your phone as it will never connect to the device again. Your device is now marked as rooted, this (at the moment) is not reversible. Now search google for "blakaddr nspanel pro". There are 3 guides: "nspanel-pro-sideload" "android-panel-webview" "nspanel-pro-secrets" Follow all 3 guides. Once this is done, the panel can run your apk of choice. I installed "GitHub - seaky / nspanel_pro_tools_apk" which handles wake up from wave and auto screen brightness, and boots into your chosen app, which for me is "GitHub - TheTimeWalker / wallpanel-android" and a HA dashboard added via URL. You can use the HA companion app instead if required. Go and create a dashboard in home assistant, I'd recommend the mushroom plugin as it looks amazing on these devices. The device is over-priced at 85 quid (on offer and with a 10pc off voucher), hopefully they'll drop to around 50-60 which is what I think this should cost. The white version is available on amazon at 76 quid, including a 15pc voucher that amazon are running at the moment. Not too bad, but still 20 quid over what I think these are worth. I don't know why the black and white versions cost different amounts - I have both. Except the colour, they are the same. Sonoff - Please add a easy method to enable ADB mode on the NSPanelPro via the panel's about screen. Tapping something 8 times here would be the best method. This is the standard way to do it, it's the way it is on all android phones. I have no idea why you have disabled this. If the smart home community can get this device to easily work as a wall panel dashboard, you'll sell loads more devices !!

Software lets it down, but easy to fix if you want to get technical
The hardware is absolutely fine, the stock software is a terribly built thrown-over-the-wall "my first Android build" mess. It has a whole core dedicated to running a broken shell script checking if zigbee is still running. It is running half a dozen different test apps all the time that aren't needed after it leaves the factory. It defaults to being tied into Sonoff's own ecosystem and mobile phone app - completely unneccersarily. Constantly calls back home to dodgy servers in China. You will want to firewall the hell out of it. Or... Fortunately it is easy to fix most of these software issues once you get adb enabled and you just have it boot into a kiosk web browser displaying your own home assistant dashboard or similar. The display is very clear, and while the 480x480 pixels might sound mean, it's completely fine on something the size and application of a light switch. Touch screen works as you'd expect. Shame it doesn't have the hardware relays for controlling lights/fans directly. You will need to find some other way of controlling them (maybe over WiFi or Zigbee). WiFi connectivity seems reliable, and it has a built-in Zigbee co-ordinator, although I have only used this in relay/repeater/mesh node mode. You need to pop the display off in order to fit and this could be easier, it's basically impossible without damaging the surround slightly.

Amazing little touch screen wall mounted device - great for Home Assistant!!
Amazing little wall mounted device! Can't comment on Sonoff's ecosystem BUT if you know what you're doing and you're looking to side-load this with the Home Assistant app then it really is perfect. Even my girlfriend loved it and asked if I could install a second one in her dressing room - we now have three in the house! Easy to install, touch screen is great and my Home Assistant dashboards work perfectly. Will buy more when I'm allowed!

Needs to be integrated with existing products if Sonoff aren't going to develop products
I am absolutely gutted to be leaving a one star review as this looks like a fantastic piece of kit. Sadly there aren't enough products compatible with it. I think they are trying to engage with other standards as this is sort of ZigBee 3 compatible but maybe they need to approach some of the bigger companies out there like TP Link. Unfortunately I am returning this as (a) it's not compatible with anything I have and (b) I can't find suitable B14 smart bulbs to purchase to use with it.

New firmware + Home Assistant = Brilliant
Took a punt on the NSPanel Pro after seeing a Sonoff video on TikTok that showed the new web view available in the latest firmware. It works really well with Home Assistant now, without any messing about with Android dev mode etc. After updating the firmware and connecting to the WiFi, it found my Home Assistant server immediately. After logging in it has worked brilliantly ever since. Will be buying several more when the price is right!

This is not a simple plug and play device, if that's what you after then get a Nest.
NS Panel Pro is a promising thermostatic control device with the potential to be great, but its software design (December 2023 v2.2.0) is terrible. Now before i start what is going to be a lengthy review, I want to point out that this review is solely centred around the NS Panel pro being used as a temperature controller with it's default software as available from Sonoff The lack of frost protection and the inability to set temperatures below 16°C make it unsuitable for use in many homes, and the software's "fire and miss" approach to control execution can lead to heating being left on or off unexpectedly. Additionally, the UI is poorly designed, with a temperature display that doesn't scale to the user's own high/low preferences and a swiping mechanism that is frustrating to use. By design the software is (and as confirmed by the team at Sonoff) not the best. The thermostat control for the NS Panel Pro is "single action, fire and miss" I'll come back to this in a second. As the N.S Panel Pro software is reliant on at least 4 devices to operate a heating program (the NS Panel, the controlling relay for the heater, the thermostat and your own wireless network) then it is only as good as it's weakest link and if at any action point one of those devices drops connection, then the program will fail to execute it's required operation at its required time. For example let's say you program your heating to operate at ** 16'c from 11pm until 1am **, at 1am the NS panel Pro will request the controlling relay for the heating to turn off but for whatever reason, at the same there is a communication loss with either the NS Panel or the relay, then at 1:01am the connection is restored however the software of the NS panel Pro doesn't either check the relay has turned off, as per what the program should now be, or do any other type of verification that went outside of the preset program, that the device is in the correct mode of operation. In this scenario (which has happened to myself) you can find that the heating is still on when it wakes you up as it has been uncontrollably heating the home until 5am as without a program to control it (because the last program cancelled at 1am) then the NS panel Pro with its really poor programming, fails to acknowledge the thermostat also and will continue heating the home as if you had put it in a manual operation. At this point it is really the problem of the relay, however toggling the thermostat control either on the NS panel Pro or within the ewelink mobile application is enough for the software to then realize it's outside of a program and then will turn the control relay off, however the software programming is that basic in its current form that it is unable to check what the relay is doing, irrelevant that both on the NS panel Pro and within the ewelink mobile app, that both of them can show that the relay is still engaged, hence why I claim that the software programming is terrible as no one has thought to have the NS panel pro to constantly check whether it is in a correct program or not. Now within the EU we also have something that is required under the control of heating regulations, where it mandates that all boilers must have a prevention method to prevent freezing of internal pipes, many people will know this as frost protection. The NS panel pro however does not offer frost protection in contravention to these regulations, and the lowest setting you can set your NS panel Pro to is 16'c, so you can either set it at 16'c all the time consuming excess gas and incurring a hefty heating bill, all the alternative is to just program out those sections, and this is where we come back to the 1:00am issue, that between the times of 1:00am and 6:30am, that you would probably likely choose not to have the heating turned on, but now this becomes a void in the program where the NS panel pro has no instruction to do anything for what is now several hours. I have asked Sonoff to allow programming of temperatures down to 10'c and to also include frost protection, set at 5'c whenever there is no program in operation, at least then this way owners of the NS Panel requirements for frost protection, and also whenever there was a communication loss as previously mentioned, then the NS panel would realize at 1:01am that it needed to enter frost protection and turn the relay off, however sadly Sonoff have responded saying they have no plans to implement this, so on a technicality, the NS panel should not be legally sold within the EU as a heating controller as it fails to meet regulations. Also as a side note, while the NS panel software can have a habit of forgetting to turn off and in turn cooking your home, it can also have a habit of failing to turn on, and making your house colder than a penguins pocket. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the ewelink/Sonoff servers have a habit of deleting your programming is also, this then defaults all of your programmings to operating 24 hours a day and we're also continue running your heating without your knowledge (mainly because the mobile application does not have any notification options on it) I have returned home after a 12 hour day at work only to find that the heating is 24 degrees in my house when it should not have been on all day, honestly I dread to think how big my gas bill will be this winter for trailing this sonoff NS panel Pro. As a UI niggle, Sonoff please scale the temperature display on the NS panel pro to the users programs high and low points, currently it makes little sense to have the display ranging between 16 and 32'c when most users would barely go beyond 21'c and the graphical UI showing the temperature set so low as a graphical percentage, and also, Sonoff, please also change the whole UI experience with swipes, change your release action for a tap input from, first touch to touch release! to those uninitiated in the reasons as to why, using the NS Panel pro can become very tedious when you are trying to swipe from one page to another and when the rest panel pro think you are trying to click something when actually you were performing a swipe. While the NS Panel Pro may be appealing to technically minded users who are willing to work around the software's shortcomings, it is not recommended for those who are looking for a simple, plug-and-play device that requires minimal user input. For those users, more expensive alternatives like Nest or Hive are a better choice. Key takeaways from the review: • The NS Panel Pro's software design is terrible. • The device lacks frost protection and cannot set temperatures below 16°C. • The software's "fire and miss" approach to control can lead to unexpected heating behavior. • The UI is poorly designed, with an inflexible temperature display and frustrating swiping mechanism. • The NS Panel Pro is not recommended for those seeking a simple, plug-and-play device. Sonoff needs to address the software's shortcomings urgently by implementing frost protection, allowing temperatures below 16°C, improving software verification, scaling the temperature display, and changing the tap input behavior from first touch to touch release. So if you're in the market for a cheap thermostatic control, with promises of something that could be great (if only Sonoff actually designed the software well) and your technically minded enough to work through the gripes but have a customizable display to do multiple things and not just be a thermostat, then this could be for you, however if you're after a simple plug and play device that requires minimal user input to get working correctly, then this is definitely not for you and you should look at the more expensive alternatives like a Nest or a Hive

A powerful Zigbee hub/router and Matter Bridge
After two years of operations and updates in December 2025, this thing has now matured to what it was designed to be. If you use Home Assistant yiu can use it as your physical Alarm Panel, It can serve as your Zigbee Hub or router and a Matter Bridge at the same time! I however think Sonoff should release a version 2, with better Wifi connectivity better Wifi antenna placement, add temperature and humidity sensor as well. Version 2 should also.me Matter compatible out of the box

Arrivato e subito messo in funzione.
