EVAPO-RUST CRC 33400-AA Rust Remover 5L

This stuff is ace. No idea how it works but it does! I used it on old rusty tools after scraping off what I could, and it’s fire and forget. Leave them to soak and rinse off a day later. Job done!

Restoring cars for over 35 years I'm glad I found a rust eater that doesn't coat the surface in black oxide afterwards. I tested first on rusty scrap steel. Shiny after being left overnight. It did rust again left out in the rain but that's expected. The rust was removed as my measurements with a micrometer showed 0.05 -0.1mm thinner afterwards. The first use of this is removing rust from the fuel sump tank of my Jag XJS. There probably is still a use for Kurust but this might be better in some situations, removing the rust rather than converting it

This came recommended by a friend who raved about it. He was not wrong. I have used it on various items and the results are amazing. The non damaging formula is a bonus and does not affect parts normally damaged by most rust removers. The fact it is reusable too makes it very cost effective. I had a 1940 pocket knife with rusted blades and the old bakalite handles, Cleaned it up no problem and the handles were unaffected. Great value for money.

My review based on 1st use. I wanted a product that was suitable for restoring my 54yr old Girling shocks, for a first test I gave the shock you see in first pic a quick wire brush then a fairly good shot blast with glass beads just to try and even out some quite heavy pitting,then I popped it into a bath of Evapo-rust for 24+hrs indoors next to a warm radiator..everything works better when its warm! Out of the solution and straight into a hot soapy bath and a really good wire brushing,once I felt ut was as best as I could get it I quickly dried it with the help of ny gas gun,it still flashed as I expected but as I was spraying it with Hammerite it wasn't an issue but I reccomend that you do whatever you do next then do it quick!!! I think IF it was just removing lighter rustiness then the result would've been much better but bearing in mind that these shocks are nigh on 56 years old then I'm well pleased,the photos show before and after. Also you must read the instructions cos this stuff has certain "limitations" !!! Very good on ferrous metals

Very good product I left my old spanners which had been out in the shed for many many years and very rusty in the solution overnight in the morning they was not like brand-new but they were 80% better. I was very pleased with the product cleaned them polished them put them in the drawer where they belong.

Well delivered (packaged), have tried vinegar / bi carb etc but this solution recovered rusted tools with excellent results. Clear instruction on the label - ensure a suitable tray or bucket to submerge the rusted part(s) and suitable pope, gloves and eye protection.

Really does work

Works extremely well on lightly rusted items. It struggles with heavy rust. To deal with heavy rust I had to clean with a wire wheel first, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Wow. So weird to find a product in this category that actually does what it says it does. Soak any parts in this and the rust is removed. PERIOD. It can take between 30 minutes and 24 hours depending on the severity, but it works every time. Amazing! I run an auto repair shop, and this stuff comes in handy every single day.

Première expérience avec Evapo-Rust et vraiment je suis conquis. Utilisé sur des ferrures et de vieux outils en acier (très rouillés) après un coup de brosse et un trempage de 48 heures ils sont ressortis impeccables. Malgré le prix un peu élevé, c'est un produit que je recommande pour son efficacité !

Ca. 2l in Gebrauch, entfernt neueren Rost leicht, tief eingedrungener Rost (z.B. bei Meteoriten) geht auch bei längerem Einweichen nicht weg, das liegt aber vermutlich am Werkstück (sehr unebene Oberfläche). Das Produkt wird schnell schwarz, es bilden sich weisse pilzähnliche Ausblühungen, das liegt aber wohl am Werkstück und den Materialien darin. Der Geruch ist akzeptabel.
