Does the Stand Alone kit come with a battery and charger?

The standalone kit comes with a single battery and no charger, but you can charge the battery whist in the camera with the USB lead. When I bought the standalone kit, I also separately bought 2 spare batteries and the separate charger which enables you to charge up to 3 batteries, well, you can load it with 3 batteries at the same time, but it actually charges them one at a time, automatically starting to charge the 2nd battery when the first one is fully charged. The camera is great, by the way!

Is this waterproof when swimming? I do not mean deep diving, normal swimming in a pool.

Yes it is good just don’t go past 10 feet. We let our kids swim in the pool with it all the time.
