Excellent so far UPDATED
****UPDATED REVIEW 7/5/18****Just making it clear, I bought the 48lb/day ice maker, and my review is for that one.I received this two days ago. It is quite heavy so you may need an extra person to help lift.In the photos provided, you can see that my ice maker is filled. These ice cubes are large. This ice maker has been wonderful so far. The ice is wet, and sticks together if the bucket gets full, but its so easy to just break them apart. I toss my basket of ice into a small cooler for my mother, who has trouble walking, and by the time the small cooler is empty I have an entire basket full of ice again. The first thing I noticed was that, when first starting up, the ice is tiny. I was concerned, but just thought it needed time to properly freeze the ice. After some time, the ice that was coming out was large. So, if your ice maker is producing small cubes at first, just give it time. The maker creates a humming noise, much like a refrigerator, but it's not bothersome. After our fridge died from flood water damage, we were buying ice at $5 for 2 bags, multiple times a week. That adds up! If this maker continues to do it's job it will save us a lot of money in the long run.UPDATE 7/5/18:I've had this machine since November of 2017. It still works perfect. I've had absolutely no issues with the machine at all. Still continues to make ice, and we haven't bought a bag of ice since getting this. Where I live, bags of ice cost $3 each. Given the amount of ice my family uses, that's a bag of ice every other day. So, counting November and July, I've had it for 9 months; 36 weeks; 252 days. Half 252 (every other day of buying ice)= 126.So, if I had not had this machine, I would have spent 126x$3.00= $378 on bags of ice in 9 months. $378 minus the cost of the machine at the time I bought it (149.98 rounded up to 150.00) I have saved $228 on ice. Not bad, right?I'm more than happy with this purchase. It's been nice not having to worry about going to the store because I ran out of ice.10/10 would definitely recommend and also buy again.

Sooo Happy
I am addicted to ice! There, I've admitted it. Also, I won't drink water if it tastes. Chlorine or anything else, to me, is horrible. So I drink distilled water. Also, we need distilled water for our CPAP machines and my husband's nose. So my ice machine only gets distilled water. Needless to say, the ice machine is MINE! I initially bought a small one. It made great ice, but we kept running out. So we got this Frigidaire. It is awesome! Not only does it make ice enough for me, my husband, and my son, but it just keeps on and on. I like the smaller pieces. But honestly, it doesn't matter. You can set it to small, medium, or large. It doesn't get larger, just thicker. We are very happy with it. It is fast, and it runs all the time. Stops when it is full, but otherwise, it is making ice. We highly recommend it over several other brands we have had.

Product Warranty Department is terrible!!
First let me say, this was the second unit I have purchased. The first unit lasted for 2 plus years so when it quit working, I ordered the same unit again because we really liked the large capacity and larger ice cubes. Unfortunately, the 2nd unit lasted only 4 months and it just mysteriously quit working. I immediately contacted Frigidaire who had me contact an outside company who provides their warranties. I reached out to them and I was provided an email with instructions to submit photos of the unit and a description of the issue. I did just that and was informed that I would have a response in 2-3 days. A week later, I finally received a response from the warranty company after I sent another inquiring email. The response was that I would receive a response in 2-3 business days. I did receive a response the next day instructing me to package the unit and return it to California for further inspection. While I am happy to return the unit if it is guaranteed to be replaced but this is not the case. The return specifically stated for further inspection. I should also mention that the shipping cost to return the unit was nearly $100, and which I as the purchaser is responsible for. I elected not to send the unit to the warranty company due to the cost of shipping and no guarantee of replacement. While I was extremely happy with the first unit and the second until while working, the warranty department utilized by Frigidaire is very low rate! Extremely disappointed!

Works great but melts fast
This makes great ice cubes and it’s somewhat fast at doing it, but as soon as the little tray gets full of ice, the ice starts melting pretty fast. So as long as you empty the tray in a bag or in a freezer or something, you’ll be OK. Overall, I would recommend it as long as you only plan on plugging it in and using it as needed.

The Frigidaire Extra Large Ice Maker is a "Great Investment".
The Frigidaire Extra Large 48lbs Ice Maker is very easy to operate, right out of the Box! with no assembly required. It is one of the best "Name Brand" Investments in Electric Appliances I have ever made! I would definitely buy this product again!

Great!! Just big
I dont like the size of the machine... All that machine for not so much ice. I ice capacity is the same as a 26 pound machine. built well, works well just big for no reason

Great size for a larger family
Makes plenty of ice for our family of five. Only had it a short amount of time, but is doing great. Is not too noisy. Have owned three different brands, and this is one of the quietest.
