Textbook of Basic Nursing (Lippincott's Practical Nursing) 10th Edition

I can't offer an opinion as to the merits of this book compared to other LPN texts for content, but physically it's so heavy I had to buy a special knapsack with wheels to carry it around. Also, the type size is really tiny (less than 10 pt. I would estimate) which makes it very difficult to read. Possibly if I held it at a different angle I could see it better (I wear progressive glasses), but to do so for sustained amounts of time would cause nerve damage to my wrists.Given that it's close to 2,000 pages, I can see why they had to make the type so small and the paper so thin-care must be taken when turning the pages. A large print edition would probably come in at 4,000 pages and 50 lbs., but could they not have broken it up into two volumes? I will now begin the search for a magnifying glass. Seriously. this book is bad for your health.

I love that I don't have to carry the heavy book around anymore but I don't like that I can't follow along with the rest of my class because the pages don't match up and there is no way of jumping to the page I need. Aside from that it was worth the money! !

The condition of the book itself is ok, BUT the smell of this book is unacceptable. It has a strong molded/mildew odor. Although I don’t see any stains, I’m certain it’s just invisible to the naked eye. 🙁

Love the format, very study friendly and has a lot of skills visualized step by step... This book is a great resource to study with for practical parts of midterm and final where you have to demonstrate skills

She says it is exactly what she needed. The layout, flow and informational value are more than satisfactory. The condition of the book fit the description and we both feel we got more than our money's worth.
