WEN 6307 Variable Speed Detailing File Sander with 1/2-by-18" Belt

WEN has really surprised me more than almost any other brand in the last 5 years. If you're honest and don't need the high cost of yellow, red, or blue, then orange is for you. I found this tool very easy to use and well thought out. Belt changes are quick and easy by pushing the tip against a solid surface. It then locks back automatically, just enough to slip the belt off. A new one goes on just as easily. When the belt is in place, there is a button inside the vacuum port area (which is removable if you don't need it), and when you press it, the belt tensions automatically. I have used this with 4 different belts and all have tracked perfectly. No further adjustment necessary. Variable speed is separate from on off making that feature very handy. For the price.......Amazing. Longevity I expect to be like my other WEN tools, which is longer than I expected. Runs pretty quietly compared to air operated as well.

35 down to 28, very powerful and NO BATTERIES!!! So tired of having to charge, charging or having extra packs on hand, thank you WEN!!! Using to help on porting intake manifolds and works "Awesome Baby!!!"

Just received it, packed nicely everything there looks good, we'll try to do a follow-up review when I actually use it. Turned it on and it ran well but has a little bit of gear noise. Not to worry I had a Harbor Freight angle grinder we sounded horrible and lasted for years. It is a nice little tool and the belts are available on Amazon for a reasonable price. When you can use it it is a far better efficiency since you turn over the Sandpaper constantly and none of it is left unused. With all the high price batteries out there and the problems with them going dead and paying an arm and a leg I think I can extend a cord out to where I'm going or you say power pack to provide Power. Just a thought for those of you who are using these.

This small powered variable speed detailing file sander does the job where hand sanding can't. A must sander for your tool collection. Wen makes a great product. Affordable price.

Perfect for tight spaces on my deck making it look brand new. Adequate dust collection. Everything works well.

Great for sanding in those areas that need a little finesse and control. Speed control is key and the belt tracks great.

This tool was purchased for a specific purpose and wasn't expected to survive beyond that. It not only survived but performed remarkably well and continues to operate at a much higher level than it's price would suggest. For the price it's a standout!

I actually purchased this sander for the callus on my foot . I have tried everything from pumice stones to my pocket knife to remove my calluses to no avail . I was a bit skeptical about this doing the job but I was pleasantly surprised when I paired it up with a 180 grit sanding belt that it has done something that I would have paid a lot more for . I now have zero pain from the calluses on my feet and it works so well that my wife had to try it out herself and again she was very surprised at how quick and easy it was to get rid of the hard , rough and painful calluses that she had . I’m sure that I will find other uses for this modern day miracle of a tool such as sanding the hard to get to places with my woodworking and knife making hobbies. The tool also seems to be made very well and is super easy to use. I was also surprised to find that Amazon had a 30 pack of assorted belts for it in grits from 40 up to 800 for I believe it was $11.99 . I’m sure that it will last for a long time but as soon as it quits on me I will be ordering another one and I might just go ahead and get it before then because if you’re like me you never want to be without a good tool that you need . I live by the old saying that it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it . I hope this helps you with your decision.

Easy to change the belts, just push the end of the assy in till it clicks, change the belt and press the button in the dust port assy to release the spring loaded assy. It runs great, but does get a bit warm when using it for a long time. I used it to remove the inside weld seam on square steel tube to make telescoping fixtures. I would buy again and am glad I bought it.

Ça travaille bien, les bandes tiennent bien dessus. Je ne l'avais pas encore utilisé car le projet que j'avais a été remis à plus tard. Mais dernièrement j'avais un boulon impossible à défaire, et aussi, impossible à atteindre avec les outils que j'avais. J'ai donc décidé de meuler la tête de ce boulon, et au bout de 30 minutes environ, la tête a parti avec un bon coup de punch. Il faut juste penser à arrêter un peu pour ne pas faire chauffer la bande trop longtemps, sinon, elle perd ses grains et devient pas mal moins abrasive. Je suis bien satisfait de cet achat.

A very good product at a fair price. Needed to remove aluminum molded ridges in a tight space. Took time, but got the job done, with different belts got a very fine finish.

This an awesome tool. Excellent for shaping wood. I would definitely, most definitely buy again, because I’m going to ware this one out. Easy to use and lighter than I had anticipated, use it for hours.
