The Black Rabbit Review: A Deliciously Frightful, Clever Read! - I purchased this book to read to my grandchildren. They all love it, especially my three-year-old grandson who begs for me to read it to him again and again. Right from the moment he sees Black Rabbit's tall self, towering over white rabbit, he momentarily covers his eyes from page to page, feeling frightful, even though by now he knows the conclusion of this highly original story. Besides this book's mounting suspense elements, the illustrations are precious and won't disappoint. I particularly love it when white rabbit thinks he is finally removed from danger, deciding to sit down in the forest clearing to munch on a tiny carrot. It's such a delightful image that the reader knows won't last since on the opposite page, gleaming from the deep, dark woods, are two ferocious eyes that are staring at our unsuspecting friend in a most sinister manner. Certain peril mounts all over again, making the readers' hearts thump right along with scrambling white rabbit's. However, a certain twist of fate comes to the rescue in this astounding tale much to the relief of everyone! Review: Love it and the bunny illustrations too! - We absolutely love this book. I won't spoil it, but I just have to say that my daughter has asked for it over and over again since we started reading it a few weeks ago-such an adorable little story & I am obsessed with how cute the rabbits' little legs are!! lol

Great read!
Quality children's book. The tale is about rabbits shadow and how he ends up needing it instead of wanting to lose it. Very appropriate for ages 2 to 6

Great children's book
I used this book in my preschool classroom. The book was very engaging and was a great resource for our topic. We discussed shadows and how they are created. Students were engaged and wanted this book reread multiple times throughout the same week .

My students loved this book.
I used this book for a science lesson in first grade! It was perfect to illustrate the TN standard I was teaching.

Those with little children will get the pleasure of seeing their little ones discover shadows, especially their own, and this book encourages their imagination on the subject in a playful and enjoyable way. It follows an innocent rabbit who tries to get away from his scary shadow only to befriend it when it saves it from a wolf. A great story about light, overcoming fears and friendship, and no doubt one that will provoke even the littlest of readers.

Such a sweet story - my daughter absolutely loved it. What a positive story of acceptance. Just enough suspense for my 4-year-old. We have read it many times since!

My four year old loves this book, but I can understand why others might think it too scary for small children. Personally, I think it's a great little story and well illustrated.
