Invisible and reliable
The edding 8280 UV marker writes clearly (under UV light) and dries fast. Great for marking valuables or documents discreetly. Ink is truly invisible in normal light and lasts well. A solid choice for basic security marking.

Good pen
Easy to use, works on plastic and is clearly visible with a UV light.

Whats the point?
I bought this to go with a UV torch to add security coing to my guns. It works perfectly. My only observation (not criticism) is that the pen nib is quite large, so if you have to put a code in a small space, or your handwriting is big, then think carefully how, what and where you are going to code your valuables. Otherwise, great VFM. BTG

UV Marker.
Just like any other products it's not perfect but it's worth considering if you want to mark your possessions for security reasons. Pros: easy to use, cheap, Cons: on some plastics it's visible without use of UV light, on some surfaces it takes couple minutes to dry Overall it's worth considering. Hope it's helpful.

Works brilliantly, just let it dry first
I've gotten hooked on escape rooms recently and managed to get my youngest son into them too - so this Christmas, he's asked that we create a home escape room. And, as anyone who has done one before would know, invisible ink can often be a part of these experiences. Knowing that Edding is a really good brand, I opted to buy this pen over cheaper alternatives and I was not disappointed. I've used it on a variety of materials in different colours and it's been fantastic. For those who have said that you can see the ink after writing, well yes you can. Because the ink isn't instantly dry. Give it some time (a few minutes is good, longer is best) and you will not be able to see it - especially on paper. I tested it out on my black faux leather phone case by drawing an asterisk and if I study it really hard in bright light I can just about make out the markings, but it's not immediately obvious at all and if you're not looking specifically for it, you wouldn't see it at all. Under black light, it's clear and bold - the pen writes as well as any other marker and is perfect for my burgeoning escape room. But as a tool for marking your property as a security measure? Also perfect. I'd caution against cheaper random-named brands and stump up a fiver for this one because you will definitely get what you need from it.

Unusual usage
Used this on my holiday home to draw lines on the windows as it stops birds flying into them as they are one way so far so good.

NOT invisible on shiny black plastic, marking contrast is obvious under normal light.
An expensive pen to discreetly mark items that becomes clearly apparent when shining 365nm UV light over it. 395nm UV light will also do the job but 365nm UV light is just better although more dangerous if you misuse it. Tested the pen on shiny/glossy black plastic and (after several weeks) marks never become "invisible" (and remained obvious) under normal light. Also applied on rubber, which absorbed the pen but didnt really provide much benefit using UV light (probably needs multiple layers to remain persistent). Didn't attempt a rub test for durability (yet, will update this review if it proves an issue on black plastic). Overall, it works to mark items that becomes more obvious under UV light, BUT its performance appears to vary depending upon material is it applied to.

Great pen for making out materials to cut. Disappears as discribed would definitely buy again

Exactamente lo que se espera de él. A simple vista no se ve nada y con luz uv aparece todo. Recomiendo escribir con la luz UV encendida.

This UV marker is great. I use it to mark certain items to help ID them in the event they were stolen. This could be used to secretly mark expensive items or simple things like office items that are prone to appear on someone else’s desk. Shine a black light on them and your mark will shine brightly! It sounds like I’m paranoid but it does work.

perfetto, scrive su tante superfici compreso il muro, resistente, leggibile e duraturo

Be aware of that some materials require more than one application, and you might have to make a fixture or similar to get all of them in the same place. I would appreciate info about what solvent to use if the tip goes dry if the pen goes dry. This could happen if you forget to put on cap after use. My summary is: I wouldn't hesitate to buy these pens again!
