An excellent repair job 10/10!
I used this on my stainless steel hot water cylinder 2 months ago as a temporary fix and so far so good is still holding. My cylinder is a on a sealed system with 2 bar pressure. I discovered a leak in good time before any damage to my timber floors. Waiting for a plumber just took too long and so I decided to do a temporary repair myself. I located a pinhole leak which was squirting the water out a distance under pressure. The foam insulation around the tank meant I had to do a bit of insulation removal to find the leak location. I drained the cylinder tank, dried around the area and used the JB Waterweld to repair the hole. I used latex gloves which, while very sticky with the epoxy putty, is better than bare hands with sweat/hand moisture etc which I felt could prevent the epoxy from adhering properly. I used about half the epoxy putty and worked it into the pinhole as much as was possible and then covered a big patch around the area but not too thick. I tried to remove a small bit of the dried epoxy putty recently to see how well it was sticking but it was completely ’welded’ to the tank. Obviously the most important thing is to make sure that both parts of the putty is completely mixed together to form the off white colour before use. I probably will need to get a new cylinder tank in the near future but everything is back working ok at the moment.

Good option for restricted access.
Recently found a slow leak in a poorly cemented drainage pipe with restricted access located in ceiling. The restricted access made changing the joint very difficult and meant that taping solutions not viable. Opted for the Water weld which did the job. The compound is very sticky which made application a little awkward as it stuck to the plastic gloves I was using as well as the fitting I was trying to seal. However, the result was good which stopped the leak.

Underwhelming water weld.
I was very disappointed with this. I wanted to seal a slow drip from a hot tub pipe. There was no pressure and it was basically just weeping around a joint. I expected this product to deal with it easily. Instead it would not stick to the wet pipe, would not plug the hole where it was leaking from to form the drip and even after it had fully set the drip was the same.

Wonderful Waterweld
Bought this to repair a cracked external 90 degree drain pipe. Easy to use...just cut of the amount required & mould together on you fingers. I recommend wearing some protective plastic / rubber / silicone gloves as this suff stick to you like a limpet... Easy to mould and apply but be quick...once mixed you can actually feel it starting to set as you use it. Full Setting time is dependent on temperature but mine went hard within 15 minutes at 15C. Once set, it is never goes 100% solid like some other epoxy products so keeps a bit of flexibility (95%) and doesn't go brittle. I've also found it useful for filling oversized holes in various materials and re-drilling for screws and rawplugs. Highly recommend this product if you have a water pipe needing some long term or temporary repair and more...it works...

Very sticky and difficult to work with
As suggested by others and by the packaging, I wore a pair of neoprene gloves while using this. The problem was that the putty seemed to prefer to stick to my gloves than the thing I was trying to put it on. This made it extremely difficult to shape and press into place reliably. It has set rock hard and seems to have reduced the weeping from my nearly-defunct hot water cylinder, but if it had been easier to manipulate I reckon I could have covered more and stopped the leak completely.

Get some - really works well
Bought this in a last ditch effort to fix a leaking soil pipe. Leak was caused due to a split in the pipe where someone one had bodge fitted a junction from the shower waste pipe into it. The nuclear option i.e removal of the soil pipe would have caused significant disturbance to the bathroom. I packed this around the broken junction which was quite inaccessible. This stuff is super sticky when mixed and you have to accept that your hands will be covered in it by the end of your job (clean off with isopropyl alcohol). Takes about an hour to go fully off…. But it worked and it stopped the leak. Dries rock hard. I made sure to rough up the area first with sandpaper and clean it with isopropyl alcohol. Very happy with the results. Would use again

This will work in the right situation if you prepare well
I used this to patch a slow drip leak on PVC to coupler connection on my pool pipe circulation. I had used this before in a much smaller amount, failing after a couple years. I used a file to prep the area remove previous putty and roughen the bonding surface. Then applied 99% alcohol to clean the surface. I thoroughly mixed 1/2 a tube of putty and applied circumferentially around the pipe seam, with an inch overlap each side. After 2 hours cure time, water on, and no leak. The key to this working is proper prep and reasonable expectations in the right situations. This is typically used in spots where replumbing is potentially difficult for just a drip leak.
