review of Masterplug ARCDKG-MP Single Socket RCD Safety Adaptor, 112 x 72.3 x 50.5 mm, Black 1/5 Whilst living in a houseshare where people brought in their own dodgy electronics, we'd end up with tripped circuits and powercuts on a daily basis, we'd constantly lose wifi and have to throw away food. bought this as solution so that their devices would not trip the whole house. turned out not to do anything as the whole house's circuit still would be blown. kept them in a drawer a few years until one day my kettle started occasionally (once every few months) tripping the power so I connected my kettle to this rcd adapter to prevent the whole flat getting tripped. and again this made no difference, the kettle would trip the whole flat. ended up throwing this rcd adapter away with the kettle. useless. review of Masterplug BFG5-MP Four Socket Extension Lead, 5 Metre, 13 Amp, White: 4/5 I needed several multi-port extension cables that were very long. The typical extension cable is 1-2 metres, I needed mine to go across and tucked neatly within shelving units. These were perfect. They're well built, well insulated, and despite being pretty cheap, don't reflect that in the product. While my ideal extension would've been 5+ ports, they worked great, and I suppose being only 4 makes sense as with such long cables, you're more likely going to need to weave and tuck these through awkward paths. They've been holding up well, and because there's so much slack cable, it means there's no dangerous taut wires that someone could trip over, or knock. I definitely recommend them, and at this price suggest always getting a backup extra one, because it's always the times you don't plan, that you'll need a long cable, and supermarkets never stock anything longer than a couple of metres.

After reading so many good reviews I purchased this item and fitted it Tuesday. I plugged in the plugs I’d been using for years and was well under the limit. All was fine. 24 hours later I was working when I heard a loud bang. When I came to investigate the lead had blown the plug and tripped the rcd to the house. If I hadn’t of been gone this could have been much worse! Please avoid!

At first, 3/4 of the charging sockets worked, which i felt was okay and i could work with. Recently, only one of them work now, which is rlly annoying because it defeats the purpose - but it’s too late for me to return now. in real life shops are better & you could probs get it for cheaper but i needed mines as a last min emergency.

I can't write a review on the Master Plug extension lead as it is a Pifco extension lead. I read a review where this happened to some one else on Amazon. I thought that it would not happen to me as well, but it has. Also the Pifco lead is less money than i paid for the Master Plug extension lead so I have been ripped off. So don't try to buy it, you won't get it.

As title says. We used thos over 1 weekend and the cable is all discoloured like it's burnt. You can see the wires on the inside. Too dangerous to use. Attempted to contact company to return but as it is outside return window it's been a nightmare and not getting anywhere.

Absolutely not a Masterplug product; it's a Pifco, and the plastic is so incredibly cheap that the neon power indicator shines right through it. Going by the other reviews, I absolutely will not risk using this and so have returned it. After reading the said other reviews, I ensured that I was buying direct from Amazon - not the case. Came from a company called NIGHT STAR, which I didn't realise until I received the item and it said Pifco on it. Great.

My own experience. Dangerous! 500watt heater plugged in and used, no coils or kinks in cable. Within 30mins then 13amp plug on the extension was more or less on fire. Plug in wall was melting and pouring smoke, 13amp fuse remained intact. Undeniable a substandard extension with potential for disaster.

This is not Masterplug brand, even though it is advertised as one. It came in a dodgy looking plastic bag - I am not going to use it with the equipment that I bought it for. The seller initially said it is the same product but then said I can return it if I don't want it. I don't have the time (or care enough) to go to the post office for this. It is disappointing that Amazon allows seller like this to have a go for free at selling non-genuine products and then the customer should take the responsibility. I think they should introduce a fine for this type of behaviour.
