Worldwide superstar Ed Sheeran has confirmed details of his hugely anticipated new album ÷ (pronounced “divide”), set for release on 3rd March 2017 through Asylum/Atlantic Records. Ed’s third studio album – is on course to become one of the most significant global album releases of 2017 and sees the 25-year-old Suffolk native in his finest form yet. The genre-defying LP is the result of an artist who consistently pushes himself in new directions, uncovering fresh musical ground using a seemingly limitless musical vocabulary. Drawing inspiration from a host of personal experiences and subjects, Ed takes you through a hugely personal journey; be that reflecting on past relationships, family memories, his musical career or his time off travelling the world in 2016. Musically ÷ is an array of beautifully orchestrated and emotive ballads, impassioned raps laid over hip hop beats, timeless acoustic guitar masterpieces and innovative, idiosyncratic pop music. Ed’s record-breaking dual comeback singles perfectly highlight one of the distinct divides in his musical spectrum with Castle On The Hill (an ode to his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk) positioning itself towards a stadium-ready, rockier sound and Shape Of You dismantling and rebuilding modern-pop using little more than a loop pedal. ÷ will reveal everything in-between whilst showcasing Ed’s impeccable guitar playing, peerless lyricism, boundless musical palate and jarringly-honest, and often autobiographical, storytelling – some of the reasons this much-loved talent has built an undeniably loyal following across the globe. Executively produced by Benny Blanco (Rihanna, The Weeknd) and Ed himself with further production coming from Johnny McDaid, Mike Elizondo and Steve Mac, the album was recorded between LA, London, Suffolk and RMS Queen Mary 2. Hugely representative of modern times, both sonically and topically, ÷ reaffirms Ed as one of the world’s most forward-thinking and versatile troubadours. Furthermore, Ed created the album artwork concept, even painting the cover himself! Review: UK Number 1 album for 19 weeks for a reason - This is a wonderful album- one of the best I have bought in ages- I've had it on over and over again in the months since I bought it. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The mixture of styles on this album, particularly the inclusion of Irish-type music in Galway Girl and Nany Mulligan, adds an extra element that was missing from Ed Sheeran's early albums and really raises his "game", yet again. Full of catchy songs- there isn't really a weak track on the album. Ed Sheeran is "man-of-the-moment" at present- Jools Holland even called him the Man of 2017, on his annual Hootenany show this year (2017/2018), which seems to be entirely fair comment- with albums like this under his belt, it is a richly deserved accolade. The deluxe version has 4 great songs more than the standard issue, which are well worth getting- not least so the album doesn't end on the heartbreaking (if lyrically beautiful) "Supermarket Flowers". It is not surprising this album has been number 1 for (currently) 19 weeks in the UK. If this album is anything to go by, I am really looking forward to Ed Sheeran's future music, too. Review: his songs hit me hard. - I rated this album 5 stars because of the quality and effort that Ed has put into this album. The album deserved its wait from its fans, in particular it has a number of really heart felt songs. I have many many favourite songs within the album. I usually have one or two songs that I dislike in an album, but there is no songs here that made me dislike the album. I am currently going through some emotional roller coasters right now, that's why these songs hit me even harder than it should. The only down side comment I would make is that, Ed seemed to have limited himself to making his songs a bit mainstream. It is difficult to try and make something new and adventurous, especially for someone like Ed, but it would be really good if he can try for the next album.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
I was so excited to hear Ed's new cd, wow, I wasn't disappointed, it's awesome!!! I was brought to tears with Supermarket Flowers, I think everyone can relate to the words of that song... Every song touched me to the core of my soul: Again, this talented, Wonderful young man, didn't disappoint his fans. I know I will be playing this cd over & over again, I love it... I still love every track on Ed's, X album, I have constantly played it in my car since it was released & I'm a 60 year old women. My granddaughter was 2 years old when X was released, within a week she could sing every track, she's 5 now & Ed Sheeran, is still her favourite musician. It doesn't matter if you're 2 or 60 something, everyone loves the amazingly talented Ed Sheeran!!!! JUST BUY THIS ALBUM, I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE IT...

Simple catchy tunes with honest sometimes laugh out loud lyrics, infectious, this stands out from the crowd, it is another winner
This will be one of the biggest albums of the year, and deservedly so. Ed has the gift to write a catchy tune that can be simply performed solo. Several of his songs focus on his small town rural youth, and look back on his formative years with a charming naivety. As with his previous albums, there are some more up tempo rap tracks contrasted with some slower more thoughtful ballads. His enthusiasm and positive attitude shine through, and several of the songs relate to his status as a popular pop star, receiving texts from girls that he does not know, and the simple joys of performing his music live in front of an audience, such as the autobiographical What Do I Know? which is charming, funny, and foot tapping, contrasting his simple joy of performing his songs against others more traditional conservative contemporaries badly impacted by the stock market crash and the decline in the value of their portfolios There are some new developments as well, he obviously soaked up some of the traditional atmosphere when over in Ireland, and Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan add fiddles and are a homage to that country. A couple of the bonus tracks are more world music influenced: Barcelona is a bright summery catchy tribute tune to that trendy Spanish city. More surprising and welcome is the track Bibia Be Ye Ye recorded in Ghana and having glorious African foot tapping instrumentation which is infectious, well done for taking a chance on doing something different. New Man is a glorious bitchy jealous swipe at a posing rival for a girls affections who is trendy but a shallow hate figure to have a pop at, with some so funny images he conjures up with his lyrics. In counterpoint How Would You feel ( Paean) is an openhearted romantic simple honest emotional love song. He manages to cleverly tread the fine line between being romantically soppy, looking back on his formative years, enjoying his super star lifestyle, and taking on new flavours like Irish and African influences with considerable aplomb. His honesty, writing from his personal experience, shines through with a positive integrity that is admirable. Some of the critics have panned some of this, but more power to his elbow, this is a loveable fantastic infectious fun 3rd album that shows exactly where he is currently at, and it is great stuff. All of it is accessible and highly entertaining, and it will be the preferred soundtrack for many over the coming few months, deservedly so.

On form, as ever
Ed's latest album shows that he is staying on form, creating fantastic pop songs. I have only awarded 4 stars as, there are some tracks which I have found myself skipping, but overall this is a really sound album. My personal favourites are "Dive," "Shape of You," "Eraser" "Hearts Don't Break Around Here" "Save Myself" and "Supermarket Flowers." The last two of these are especially heart-felt pieces, with "Supermarket Flowers" bringing a tear to my eye. A really good CD, so far one of my favourites this year.

Worth the extra on vinyl
Excellent next day delivery on Prime. Album it itself has enough reviews, you either love it or not and can't have not heard (all) the tracks by now. Took a while to grow on me but it did and hence I've now joined the throngs and bought it. As for Vinyl, the product is fantastic. Well produced on much sturdier 180gm Vinyl (thicker than the old ones!!) and sounds great. Somehow playing it on Vinyl makes you more invested in the listening process. That said you also get the album on free download so you don't miss out there and benefit from all the artwork on the album itself which relays a lot about the artist. Worth the slight extra in my opinion.

Ed Sheeran might not be having my love child anytime soon (menopause prevents me from standing that long at a concert or pitching my granny panties on stage), but I still love me some Ed Sheeran. This CD is wonderful. Sheeran continues to punch out fantastic music – no one-hit wonder here. Amazing artist, fantastic entertainment that will get your toes a tappin' or the tears a flowin' – worth every single solitary penny.

True Ed - It will take you to new hights (DIVIDE Vinyl 2 180 g LP Record)
Today is the day that I have been waiting on for months! The release of Ed Sheeran's latest work - DIVIDE! This is the third in a line of incredible musical releases that follow the naming pattern that he started with his first solo release - PLUS (+) and then the sophomore album of MULTIPLY (X). I once again purchased this on vinyl and get the digital download! If you buy the vinyl please be aware that he spins this 12" vinyl at 45 RPM (same as with (X)). As you know most 12" vinyl is normally 33 1/3 RPM but to increase the fidelity of the music it is pressed on 180 g vinyl and at a higher turn rate you get a more accurate sound reproduction from your turn-table. I know you cannot match the digital fidelity of CD with vinyl but Ed's voice is made for playing on an old fashion record. It just brings out the rich soulfulness of his vocals. This review is based on the vinyl copy and the digital download from Amazon. If you order this on vinyl MAKE SURE YOU CAN PLAY 12" LPs @ 45 RPMs! We all got a taste of this album with the early release of a couple of songs that made their way to the top of the radio playlist. "Shape of You" let us know that Ed was following in the path of his previously release music with a familiar sound and artistry that we have come to know and love. The backing tracks of an upbeat soulful up tempo song that paints the images in your head of the girl that physically pushes all the right buttons. There is no denying his style of writing and where you go when you listen. My review of the songs on the album: Eraser starts off the collection of songs with some Sheeran style rap and gets you ready for what is about to come. Next he goes into a ballad with Castle on the Hill and lulls you into that soft safe space that he can easily create with his vocals and then speeds things up with a snare laden song called Dive – you almost feel like the person in his studio apartment just listening to the magic being created. Now you head further down the path with Shape of You and you know why you love him. You cannot help but sway while you listen and you see/feel/smell what he is singing to you. It has a subtle eroticism and full of confidence, you know where someone looks at you and you know what will happen next. Five songs in and there it is. Perfect – both the song and placement on the album. Soulful and sounds like it could be sung on a small stage somewhere in a bar that smells of stale beer and old perfume. Dimly lit on a stage with only a single spotlight but then opens up to a more angelic hook but still reminds you are at an old hotel out by the airport. Nicely done with some Nashville flair. From there to what seems to be old Ireland with the flute, fiddle, and a rap mashup that strangely works with Galway Girl. Next the spotlight return to Ed and his guitar doing what he does best and he sings Happier about someone who he hurt but still loves deeply and you feel it in your gut. New Man has a familiar beat telling the story of a man he lost a girl to and reminisces of a better time. The hook makes you want to move your body. The reference to the Kardashians made me chuckle! It is a song about keeping up with… More of his life in song follows with Hearts Don’t Break Around Here & What Do I Know? And How Would I Feel – Making the world a better place through song! The latter is an awesome ballad that also gives you a warm loving feeling between two people and give you a joyous hope of forever. This is for you and that special one when the relationship is new and you want to spend the rest of your life with them and you want them to feel the same way. Great electric guitar solo! No sooner that you believe in love forever. I wasn’t ready for Supermarket Flowers. I had to stop and close my eyes. I’m glad I was alone the first time I heard this because it is something special and to anyone who has lost their Mum understand. I always said my Mother was an Angel on earth – Halleluiah. Be ready to dance to Barcelona! Bibia Be Ye Ye makes you want to party in Africa! You can see the colorful dancers if you just let yourself go there. Get up and move around and don’t care if anyone is watching while you dance! As we make it towards the finish line you get the Irish feeling again during the song Nancy Mulligan. Fiddle going and Irish dancing in my head and he paints a picture of Nancy and how the story of the courtship goes! You know it has a happy ending! For an ending like no other – Save Myself. Another story told by Sheeran like no one else can. It reminds you who is the most important person in life and if you don’t take care of yourself then who will? The 2 LP vinyl is packed with 16 songs. All of which tell you a different story. After a quick listen to the tracks and hearing what he brings to the table with this 3rd work of art you will quickly understand why he is still at the top of his game. Today (release date) I will be listening to this collection of songs and will give you my opinion of who I believe is one of the most talented artist of this decade. In addition I will photograph the vinyl collection in detail and will post what you will receive if you have (or will purchase) this on the 2 LP set. The details are incredible along with the art and liner pictures - which is another reason to enjoy music on vinyl records.
