Perfect for stopping hair clogging the bath tub
Perfect fit for the bath. Great value for money and catches hair well.

Grabs those hairs
Been using this for a while now in the bath which includes the shower. I ordered the small which sits in the general groove of the plughole and on top of the silver plughole surround but it still does its job of collecting my loose hair. You get a little water build up which is bound to happen because you've reduced the hole with lots of little ones but it still drains through and if it builds up like you've loosely put a plug in, then just remove what hair has been collected - is what I've found. I molt so much and this is definitely doing its job! The plughole no longer needs to be fought with as often which is great! Obviously the plughole still gets its regular clean but being pretty much free of clogs is great! The odd stray hair may find its way through but compared to previous it's nothing! I've had this both ways around and both ways work with letting water through and collecting hair, that said if you have it sitting in the plug as opposed to the dome affect, the water isn't as easy to flow through as the holes are slightly covered by the plughole surround but that's on me for not necessarily paying attention to the measurements but the water does still flow through. I tend to remove the bath plug adapter when using this. The rubber surrounding helps as a weight and keeps it in place/good suction so no lifting up should you have a mass of water going through/collecting. Overall happy with this and would purchase again.

Simple and effective drain protector that catches hair well
I bought this OXO Good Grips drain protector to reduce hair blocking the bathtub drain, and it works very well for that purpose. It sits neatly over the plug hole and stays in place during use without sliding around. The design catches hair effectively while still allowing water to drain through at a normal rate, which helps prevent slow drainage issues. It’s easy to clean—just lift it off, remove any trapped hair, and rinse it down. The material feels sturdy and well made, so it should last a long time with regular use. It blends in fairly discreetly in the bath and doesn’t feel intrusive or awkward to use. A practical, well-designed bathroom accessory that helps prevent blockages and makes drain maintenance much easier.

Every Household Needs This
Finally, a bathtub drain protector that does the job. Before this, I used one of those star shaped drain protectors and let me tell you, those were horrible. Hair could always find its way underneath and it got very annoying. There was even mold growing despite cleaning it frequently. Just a bad product. BUT THIS. I’m at peace now. PROS: Does it Protect? - YES IT DOES. Thanks to it’s simple design, it fits perfectly over the drain without a centimetre to spare. Absolutely NO hair gets under, it all collects above/around it. Quality - high quality stainless steel with a very nice rubber that has an amazing grip. Design - the small holes are big enough for the water to pass through easily but due to its concaved design where it’s slightly elevated, hair never seeps through as it all collects on the sides. CONS: No cons, but one issue I had at first was it used to create a backlog of water, that was before the hair and everything else blocking the pipes was cleared, now it allows the water to flow perfectly. All in all, if you’re someone who has been struggling with backlogged shower drains due to the hair going in, this is FOR YOU. Thank you for reading my review and I hope you found it helpful.

Works well
There seemed to be some mixed reviews of this but I thought I'd give it a go and am really pleased I did. My last plughole cover was much bigger and seemed to get slimy quite quickly - this is much smaller and more discreet, and feels cleaner. My hair is long and after washing it in the shower, the loose hair bobs in a neat blob slightly above the cover while the water is running so I can easily just pick it up and bin it afterwards. I would definitely buy one again.

So simple yet so effective
We originally bought one of the other manufacturers plastic sucker type starfish ones and it worked well but turned black. This metal device is so simple yet so effective. It catches all the hair on top and you just lift it off (no real suction required) and dispose of hair and then replace. It's easy to clean and doesn't go black! And it looks really good. Smaller than you'd think. It covers a standard plughole easily but that's it. It's not massive and you'd need a different product if seeking to do the same with a shower (larger plughole). I still put some Kilrock Slam plughole unblocker and freshner down the hole every 4 months or so as it keeps it fresh and clean with no pongs and keeps water flowing freely. Good device when used alongside other plughole treatments.

Perfect little bath drainer!
Fabulous little bath plug drainer … exactly what I wanted. Catches all the hair. Fits and stays perfectly in position. Definitely would recommend.

Just rests in place, but otherwise basically works.
I have a bath with a pop-up plug, whose mechanism is broken. I wanted something to catch hair when showering, and the plug hole design ruled out some options that fit inside the hole. Evidence is that this does work: I find hair on it, it's easy to wipe off. Unlike some options, it's not painful to stand on - and doing so doesn't block it, unlike the plug mechanism. However, it rarely stays fully over the plug hole. The rubber lip just rests on the bath - there's no suction mechanism to keep it in place, and it's rounded so water can get under (although I'm finding hairs on it, so it's working at least partly). It might stay better in place inverted (so the dome was inside the plug hole), but that would leave effectively a metal cheese grater aligned to scrape my fibreglass bath, which doesn't seem wise. I can vouch that it's easy to remove. I know this because my kittens have discovered it, and now it sometimes appears in the middle of the floor. I'm grateful for the rubber surround, since presumably it's bouncing off the walls a few times before getting there. So not perfect, mostly because it could do with something to keep it aligned over the hole and stop it lifting. But certainly better than nothing. And also a functional cat toy.

Bought again
Second and third purchase. This works great and fits well but only if you shed moderate amount of hair when bathing. The drain does flow slower than if you use it but it might be marginal depending on your shower flow.

NO SE PARA QUE TIPO DE DESAGÜE ES
TLLEGO MUY RAPIDO Y ESTA MUY PADRE PERO PENSE QUE ERA MAS GRANDE, QUE QUEDABA SOBRE LA CONTRACANASTA DE LA TARJA Y QUEDA POR DENTRO, PERO YO TENGO UN EMPAQUE POR DENTRO POR ESO SI QUEDA, SI NO, SE VA HASTA EL FONDO. EN REALIDAD NO SE PARA QUE TIPO DE DESAGÜE ES. PERO ESTA BONITO

Works perfectly as intended!!
I came across this drain protector many times but always hesitated to purchase it because it doesn't have suction cups or any way for it to stay in place. The UMBRA "starfish" drain protector I had been using for a couple of years was very yellowed and still allowed hair to get through some of the gaps between its suction cups. I finally decided to purchase the OXO drain protector and I honestly wish I had bought this in the first place! It doesn't need suction cups. The weight of it allows it to stay in place on its own. It's fantastic at catching hair while still allowing the water to flow through. This small drain protector fits perfectly over my traditional bathtub drain. (The old-fashioned type that uses a round rubber stopper on a chain.) But I also purchased 2 of the larger OXO drain protectors for my modern stand-up showers. They work amazingly. The trapped hair is extremely easy to remove afterwards too. I have seen absolutely no hair get through the drain protector! 10/10 would recommend!

Please read: great product, but..
Update: I put it on my other shower and it works great. The shower head has a slower flow rate than the rain fall shower head I added, I recommend this product. Still 5 stars. I’m giving 5 stars because the product looks great, feels sturdy and works as it should. However, the flow rate I experience for draining was not good, and I believe it isn’t the products fault. I have a new rainfall shower head which I believe produces too much water. The product catches the hair perfectly even when it pools, but I had to go with a bigger version to fit over top of the drain. Please see photos attached. Keep in mind if you have a drain like mine and/or a rainfall shower head, you may need a bigger version of this product, other than that, amazing.
