Great fun
A lovely book with lots of pictures and ideas along with practical help, very much a book for beginners. Some of the information is pretty basic but it's great to see all the room images from series 1 & 2 of the show. I'm sure I also spotted a few cheeky photos from some well known high street and Swedish furniture stores rather than original designs but on the whole a great book for those wanting to introduce more style and design into their homes.

Bargain price & lots of useful tips for the budding designer!

More a coffee table book than a manual!
The term "sourcebook" implies a book full of useful information; this doesn't really live up to that. I greatly enjoyed the two TV series, and I had hoped for instructions as to how to achieve some of the interesting techniques displayed, and where to obtain unusual materials. It has very nice pictures of the rooms, but practical tips are limited to such things as putting up a shelf and re-covering a plain lampshade. General information is mostly of a very simplistic kind - if you need some of it, you probably shouldn't be living alone, eg "a wood-burner needs a constant supply of seasoned wood" and "maximise light by not having your curtains covering the window"!! There are two pages of suppliers at the end, but many of them are just well-known chains. The main text contains various references to the fact that there are websites for different things, but these are mostly not named. This is an attractive book, with a few helpful tips, but I'm glad that I bought it at a considerable discount. I wouldn't have wanted to pay £20 for it.
