The Edgemaker Knife Sharpener Pro 331 Orange

I've used this product before and needed an extra one. Mine has lasted over a decade with minimal maintenance. The best way to use this product is to use the final honing side for 5 or 6 strokes every time before you begin to use a knife or after every use. It is handy, sturdy, and stores flat in a drawer. It works very well for what its designed purpose. It works on scissors, serrated-edge knives, single beveled knives, and best on knives that are beveled on both side of the blade. Save the instructions. When my old one started to wear out, I carefully took pliers and turned each of the sharpening pins to expose an unused surface...worked like new.

I've tried lots of different sharpeners, and I think the easiest and most fool-proof sharpeners on the market today are the Edgemaker sharpeners. These sharpeners have three different sets of sharpening bars. Most of the time, if you're using your knives under normal conditions, you will only use the finest (smoothest) set of bars, just to "touch up" the edges on your knives... it's just like using a butchers' steel. But, if you've lost the edge on a knife, or if you've somehow gotten a ding in an edge, then you'll need to use the coarser grit bars until you get get a nice, consistent edge... then switch to the smoothest bars to put the finishing touches on it. I have used these for years professionally and personally. Not a substitute for a fine steel, I recommend the diamond impregnated ovalized steel, it is an excellent honing tool to keep your blade sharp through continuous use. Use before slicing tomatoes and you will melt through them as thin as your skill will allow. A fine addition to any kitchen knife set. Anyone can use it and makes a great gifts for your favorite cook.

The toll really helpful had a bunch of dull knifes at my house finally hit sonthing quality to sharp then and now I can cut through things with breathe. Well made pretty durable.

Don't let the price influence your opinion about whether this is a worthy knife sharpener. It is fantastic! I have used this on kitchen; fishing; hunting and everyday carry pocket knives. It will bring a dull blade to a near razor's edge in less than 1 minute. Take your time, with even light strokes; and this Edgemaker Pro will amaze you. Touch ups are a breeze once you've got the edge. American made... Easy/Simple to use... Great results... Inexpensive... What's not to like about this wonderful little unit? Answer: Nothing! Just buy it!!!

I LOVE the Edgemaker. As a former professional knife sharpener I can tell you , this tool hones your knife edge so your knife feels sharper immediately and will stay sharp longer. It should be used every time you pick up your knife to use it. You cannot hurt your knife with the use of this tool. I highly and firmly recommend it!!!

Best steel in the business! Functional and easy to use. Nothing beats a stone for sharpening, but for honing in the kitchen, tackle box, hunting pack this little guy is king

I've been using Edgemaker sharpeners for over 20 years. I have very expensive professional systems to put razor sharp edges on knives, but they take a long time to use. The Edgemaker is like having an expert chef or butcher using a butcher's steel touching up your knives. Pull the blade through the crossed "steels" and you have very sharp knives ready to use in seconds. I bought this last Edgemaker for a friend after he remarked how sharp my kitchen knives are.

I first saw this sharpener at a fishing trip last summer. Someone was filleting fish and after every fish, he would get his knife razor sharpe with just one or two strokes of this sharpener. This year I decided to get one, I was not disappointed. I used it to sharpen all my fillet knifes and also an old electric knife that I had stopped using because the blades were dull. With this sharpener I was able to use it again. It is harder to sharpen serrated blades than normal blades, but it is certainly worth it. I greatly recommend this sharpener for any outdoor enthusiast or anyone who likes to have a sharp knife.

After seeing a video showing off this at shot show I was intrigued to buy it. Does it sharpen your knife? Yes it does, but not that well. If it is not used exactly right (like any other pull through sharpener) expect it to leave tiny chips on your blade. However, if you do use it correctly, your blade won't be that sharp. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy this. Its okay, but you'd be better of using sharpening stones.

This sharpens my knives very well. Kitchen and tool knives. I haven’t used any other sharpeners so can’t really compare, as well I am not a sharp knike fanatic... just wanted something that will keep my knives sharp, this does the job.
