Dylusions Accessories Small Creative Journal

Nice little book for art creations. Good thickness of paper so you can use all sorts of media on them. I’m starting of doing mixed media and feel this is a good size art journal to start.

I love dyan’s Range, all of her stuff is good quality and she has such a wonderful style. Her products encourage you to develop your own style with lots of products to guide you and help along the way. The paper is good, thick and high quality. It can take a heavy watercolour wash, it does buckle but once dry, I close the book and the next day it’s all straight and perfect again! I take this everywhere and I’ve used her stickers, quotes and borders to decorate it and gessoed all over it to protect it. I’m also using one of her dyalog canvas covers to further protect it. It doesn’t quite fit but it’s meant for a smaller product to and it does the job for me!

This is my third Dylusions journal and whilst more expensive than some it delivers on fabulous quality - worth every penny. Thick paper will take all manner of mixed mediums and lays flat.

My dylusions book arrived in great time. In fact it was here a few days before the expected delivery time, so I was pleased by that. The packaging was good. The book is hardbacked but the seller had made sure it was packaged well as it travelled through the wonderful british postal service. On arrival there were no scuffs or marks so it was in perfect condition. The notebook was exactly as I had imagined. I was luck enough to know someone who had bought these books before and so had been able to see one before ordering mine. The pages are thicker than normal paper and so stiff, they would be perfect for altered art or art journalling and I would hold different mediums well. I haven't used mine yet but I intend to use it for pencil and pen drawing so I dont think that the will be any issues. The pages open fully so you are able to draw across the middle sections so you could do a two page spread if you wanted too. I would order again but I think it may be a while before I have used all of the pages!

The paper in this is more like smooth card stock or Bristol paper, so if you don't like working on a totally smooth surface without tooth then this may not be for you. It also allows ink to bleed through to the other side of the paper. So maybe not so good for watercolour as it doesn't take well to overwetting. That said, it doesn't warp though the paper surface can slough a bit when wetted, which it has done for me with brush pens and washes. I Like that there's a little useful pocket. I'd like this better if it had a thicker grade watercolour paper. Good for pastels and pencils.

I haven't used it yet but it looks great! It comes highly recommended and so looking forward to using it soon.

What a fantastic art journal... It has buttery smooth manila card stock that I look forward to filling with some beautiful art work. It is really well made and worth every penny... I see these being the way forward for me and I look forward to buying the bigger sizes
