Gardena 8188-20 Water Meter - Multi-Colour

This water meter is simple to install (click and go!), easy to use (one button press!) and accurate (to 0.1 of a litre!). I use it with a motorhome to fill my freshwater tank. No more peering in through the window to try to see the 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 led display! This meter, attatached to the end of my fill hose nearest the vehicle, allows me to accurately add 10 litres or whatever I want up to its 120 litre max. Totally brill. HIGHLY recommended.

Bought this with trepidation due to mixed reviews and answers to questions that contradict each other and the item description. Found the meter to include all expected features and be accurate from 1 litre per minute upwards. At very low trickles the meter significantly under-reads, and flow only starts being reported at all at about 0.5 litres per minute. There are four display modes selected by pressing the button momentarily: two totals that are reset manually, one total that auto-resets whenever flow starts and an instantaneous flow rate. Press and hold the button to reset either of the displayed totals (Total 1 and Total 2). In flow rate mode, press and hold the button to change units between litres and gallons (which appear from measurement to be US gallons, 1.2 US gallons = 1 UK gallon). Note: changing the measurement unit resets all totals to zero. Either hose connector can be unscrewed to reveal a 3/4" BSP thread, male on the bottom and female on the top of the unit. This is the standard domestic hose tap thread. Water flows through a plastic tube within the unit, any leakage is likely to be due to the screw-on connectors being loose (they screw on to rubber washers). Note if you plumbed directly to the female thread it would prevent removal of the electronics to change the battery. I would say the unit was splash-resistant, there is potential for water ingress via the pushbutton and possibly via the battery enclosure (which is sealed with a rubber bung). The impeller is removable for cleaning.

I use this water meter for filling the fresh water tank on my motorhome. The tank is 100 litres but is so easy to overfill as the on-board gauge isn't so accurate. Using this water meter, filling of the tank is so straightforward. It comes with standard hose fittings and I simply fit it onto the campsite tap in a second or two before connecting my hose. I fill to 90 litres and shut off the tap - no more guesswork and no more annoying overflows. Perfect. *Every product I review is purchased with my own money. So I brought this to use on my Koi pond so I know how much water I use with top up's but also when I need to change my Chlorine filters and so I know how many ltrs have passed through. I was sceptical that this product would do the trick, but it is spot on. I installed it inline after my auto top up valve so it didn't have water pressure constantly in it, and It works brilliantly. I tried to upload a photo, but it wouldn't upload, but if you wanted it would be easy to pipe this up solidly inline if you wanted as the incoming and outgoing hose connections unscrew and could easily be replaced with other connections. As well as total ltrs (can be converted to gals etc) used it also measures the actual flow rate thought the pipe, which makes it easy to set up pond equipment. Very pleased with it and a good price.

I had been looking for a little gadget for some time that would meter the tap water quantity when I was topping up our garden pond, and this fitted the bill just right. The digital read out is nice and clear and can be changed from gallons to litres. It also computes the total quantity of water used over a season if required. This meter is very well made and comes highly recommended.

Great little gadget, just what I needed! To see how accurate this little thing is, I hooked it up to my garden hose a filled a 36l container and it was bang on. I purchased this to accurately measure the volume of my odd shaped koi pond, inc pipes and filters, so I'm confident this will do the job on the next water change.

Unfortunately the unit itself leaked, spraying water everywhere. At first I thought it was the screw fitting for the hose attachment, but actually it was an internal plastic to plastic joint line that perhaps wasn't fully sealed at point of manufacture. There's a join presumably because the little internal flow propeller unit has to be fitted into the flow pipe at manufacture and then clipped into place. So, a weak point in the unit. Apart from that the flow meter worked and the electronics worked. Maybe I was just unlucky with this particular unit. One star only because it had to be returned.

The water meter is simple to set up and simple to use; and so i'll keep my review brief. - It just fits neatly between the tap and your hosepipe (see photo for the standard fitting that it comes with) - The big advantage for me is that it has shown me how much water I waste on washing the car and watering plants. I have had it 12 months now, and this little device has really made me reduce my water usage by about 30 - 40%. Purely for environmental concerns it's a winner ; but one day when water metering reaches my neighbourhood, this will undoubtedly have me operating on a lower water budget. - there is only 1 button to press, and it cycles you round the 4 readings. I love it ... I wish that I had bought one years ago.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem günstigen Wasserzähler, der meinen Wasserbedarf des Gartens misst. Ich habe in meinem Garten das Gardena Micro-Drip System incl. Bewässerungscomputer installiert und wollte/will einfach gerne wissen, welche Mengen Wasser ich pro Bewässerungsintervall, aber auch insgesamt benötige/verbrauche. Angeschlossen habe ich das Gerät zwischen dem Bewässerungscomputer und dem Wasserschlauch. Getestet habe ich mit einem 8 Liter Eimer und etwas reduziertem Wasserstrahl (ca. 20 L/min Durchfluss). Als Ergebnis habe ich 8,1 L angezeigt bekommen, was ich als sehr präzise ansehe, da ja ein Eimer auch nicht unbedingt als Eichgerät anzusehen ist. Wie genau der Wasserzähler nun bei der Gartenbewässerung per Micro-Drip System mit ca. 4 L/min Durchfluss misst bleibt abzuwarten - Hier ist es natürlich sehr schwer die tatsächliche Referenzmenge zu bemessen. Bin aber sehr zufrieden mit dem Gerät bis jetzt. Was wirklich etwas nervig ist, dass die mitgelieferte Batterie so gut wie leer ist.. Somit werde ich wohl bald wechseln müssen und damit sind bestimmt die bis dahin gesammelten Daten weg. + einfache Installation + fühlt sich hochwertig verarbeitet an + obwohl der Wasserhahn komplett offen ist und auf der Gegenseite ein Micro-Drip Mengenbegrenzer geschaltet ist, ist das System dicht (wurde bei vorangegangenen Rezessionen manchmal bemängelt). + bei einem Eimertest mit 8 L Volumen zeigt das Gerät 8,1 L Wasserverbrauch an - finde ich sehr präzise. + 2 Messspeicher, 1x aktuelle Durchflussmenge, 1x aktueller Verbrauch - Batterie so gut wie leer im Auslieferungszustand (gleich bei der Bestellung noch an Ersatz denken CR2032) Dafür würde ich aber keinen Stern abziehen.

レビューを見て、通常規格のジョイントではないことや、水漏れがあるなど書かれていたため、どうしようか悩みながらも購入。 実際に使用した感じでは水漏れも一切なく、また普通にホームセンターで購入したホースのジョイントと変わってもおらず普通に接続できました。 今回は洗車用の純水器と高圧洗浄機の間につなげ、純水の使用量を図るために使用しました。 実際の数値を見ると、SUV車一台洗うのに、約１２ℓほどであったことが分かります。 悩んでの購入でしたが、買って正解でした！ あとは耐久性がどれくらいあるか、使用しながら確認したいと思います。

Fantástica idea la de un caudalímetro digital que se intercala perfectamente en la goma de riego. Además del caudal en cada momento, acumula el total de agua usada, y varios contadores parciales. Sencillamente genial.
