Quality item as a genuine Nintendo. I had tried an aftermarket one but this had to be replaced as it didn’t always charge, a sign of you get what you pay for.

It's expensive, the cable is too short, it's of unremarkable quality - not poor quality, just nothing special - and unfortunately necessary if you want to be 100% certain of safe use with a Switch dock. Reports of hardware failures as a result of using unofficial Nintendo docks and/or unofficial Nintendo USB-C cables to power said docks are still happening at a steady pace. That being said, if you don't want to use it to power a docked Switch, you don't actually need to fork out for this. Any USB-C cable with a 56 ohm resistor (a fairly standard component in a good quality cable) will safely charge the Switch in handheld mode, and you can save some money.

Purchased this after trying a cheaper version which didn't last a month. This is however the official one. Can't recommend this enough to anyone with a Switch. Don't waste time and money with the other copy's. They don't last and the one I got wouldn't ever work on the docking station.

I was advised from many youtubers to always buy official nintendo products and this is the best charger they do. Very useful when out and about and a really long cable as well which is good. Charges quickly and efficiently and as its Nintendo own brand fits perfect with the connector. Only slight issue is the price as its not cheap but you pay for quality and for the official product so can't expect less. If you use your switch out and about, airports, trains, hotels etc than 100 per cent get this charger!

Was a little skeptical at first, but this charger is correctly identified and accepted by the Switch Dock. If you don’t plan to use your Switch in the Dock, any charger that delivers more than 18W is adequate, but the Dock require a specific charger profile and this one works. Recommended!

This charges my switch and dock just as the original. Great deal if you lost yours in travels

Pretty expensive for a 40W charger but absolute necessity if you care for the longevity of your device. Unlike the cheap knockoffs which seem pretty hallow inside, this one weights like a brick. To put it in numbers, the original charger weights 185g while the cheap one weighs only 95g.
