I bought this kit awhile now and the micro scanner sometimes doesn't come on when the switch is pressed... The screen is just blank....

If you're asking what kinds of connections you can test with this, the IntelliTone and the MicroScanner can both test four pin (RJ-11) and eight pin (RJ-45) modular connectors. The MicroScanner can also test coaxial cables.

Will this test for the shield for shielded cables also?
