Slog not a Slouch
I just recieved voyager class Dinobot Slog today 11/16/14...from of course Amazon. So lets get started shall we?...well his packaging was superb as always from Amazon and at first glance he's attractive in a medevil type of way. I certainly like what they've done with this figure. His somewhat metallic gray over cast paint is well deserved on his bulky frame with the red trimming, his head sculpt is classical reminding me to a joust champion and if it were so he'd be just that...undefeated. I love his bulky frame it what you would expect from a Dinobot but he pulls it off extremely well. He has thick calves, wide upperbody, powerful looking arms (gorilla) l had thought l would'nt find the back plate behind his head an eyesore...but in hand its great, it looks as if its a protective shield for his neck...like it?...yes. His detailing in the sculpt is just awesome, his chest looks impenetrable with thick spikes protruding outward...he's full of spikes and they are all in the right places that makes him standout from the rest of Team Dino. He's menacing to say the least and the black interior paint apps just blend so well and adds even more dominance to his stature. Now alot of people had mixed feelings about his "Tailbelt" well. Not so much to me, its not bad and it fits his design as it seems attached to his crotchguard. But for me the biggest plus is that he has a waist swivel and he can bend forward at the waist to me that deserves 4stars alone. His back kibble isn't bad once you look him over enough it becomes less and less of a distraction and becomes attractive. I love this guy. Now his Dino Mode...its well designed,it has its flaws but its nothing to blow a gasket about. Because of his Tformation his mid-section in Dino mode has movement between his front legs and belly, it doesnt have a tab to keep it tightly together, its no big deal trust me. He has soft plastic that forms his back in dino mode and the back of his legs in robot mode but it pegs in really well in both modes nice and tight. He's nice in Dino mode has limited leg articulation moreso the hind legs, his neck can bend forward and he can turn his head at the neck, his head sculpt is nicely detailed...he's just simply put...totally detailed,All over. Tiny Autobot insignia on both his front legs like Hasbro just went full throttle with Slog. Now his chestplate in dinomode is also soft plastic and because of how he's packaged your gonna have to bend it in place, you can blowdry it,l did that. It doesn't tab in so just rest it between his upper shoulders on both sides and thats it. Now his weapons....eeh! Not a fan of them as far as how they look in his dinomode. Robot mode its ok, but in dinomode l leave them off. He's a spectacular figure all around l have no reserves for him. He's engineered well and his mold is bonafide badass, head to toe in either mode Slog looks unstoppable, paint apps color combinations are all masterfully crafted. He's definitely a must have. I highly recommend him. His bio says Slog is slow and lumbering, that may be true..but this Slog is no slouch.

Finally got him!
Finally got him at last. He's a good figure, but the transformation between robot and dino mode is very involved and complicated; it's to the point that once you're done transforming him all you can say is "Whew, I'm finally done!" But overall this is a good figure. As expected with the AOE toy line, he does have those "gorilla arms"/"do you even lift bro" arms that limit articulation; however it shouldn't deter you from getting this figure. He's a nice add to any Transformers collection. Now all I need is Snarl and my Transformers AOE Dinobots collection is complete!

Cool figure, pretty flimsy though.
Overall a pretty nice figure, but trying to position his right arm is pretty tough and is generally less smooth to pose unlike his other arm. The rubber parts are also pretty annoying but not much an issue if you don't care to transform him. He's hard to pose due to all the different parts but looks really good overall.

Would like to see more of this quality from Hasbro
One of the better figures from the movie line. I really like the soft flexible plastic used in this piece as I believe it helps make a more accurate dino mode and while concealing itself very well in robot mode. I would like to see what else Hasbro can do with this material. Some may dislike it and the longevity of the soft plastic is still unknown, but its potential in future transformers interests me.

Average toy for Transformers fans that want to complete the Dinobot figures.
At first I thought this figure was going to be amazing, but then this figure was a bit different than the one I thought. It is a good toy to those that want to enjoy it, it's that the transformation sequence makes it very confusing and I cannot know where to transform it correctly. But it is in good shape with everything that it's suppose to have, it's just that I expected more to be a better figure with a much better transforming steps.

and has a cool look. i like the way they designed the ...
even though this figure has challenging body issues, i still give it 5 stars, for the sheer DINOBOT coolness of it. Slog is just so CHUNKY, and has a cool look. i like the way they designed the alt mode, with a rubberized "cage" that surrounds his hidden parts in the belly or torso area. very nice.. mine, however, likes to split in half, i guess you could say.. like it has a hinge in it's back and folds downwards, spreading the front and rear legs as the stomach touches the floor. doesn't lock into place very well

Good mold. Horrible execution. Moderately okay toy.
This is a great mold absolutely ruined by poor material choices. The over-use of rubbery soft plastic and loose joints makes transformation a hassle, and neither mode look particularly well put together. The waist joint intended to hold the thing together in Dino mode barely works, leaving the toy vulnerable to folding in half like a slice of paper at the slightest tap - No fun for little kids trying to play, I would assume. If you're going to be displaying him in robot mode, he'll look good enough to pass on a shelf. If you're looking to give this to a kid, I would say get literally any other dinobot from the Age of Extinction line before you get this one. It's not a horrible toy, but it's easily one of the least impressive in the entire toy-line; which is a shame considering how great this mold COULD have been with the right design choices made.
