Can this continously measure distance or is it just when you press measure?

Yes. It can continuously measure distance. Press the function key for different modes such as measure distance, measure area, volume and one setting is continuous. The refresh rate during continuous mode is very impressive. I highly rate this tool and wish I'd bought one ages ago.

Can you change this to Mease from the front and the back

Some answers are wrong. You can set front middle or back.

Will this be good for measuring stud work

I could see no reason why it would not be. Any distances between solid objects it can measure. I used it for window shutters.

Perfect little laser measure
