Would it be possible to replace the 13mm Bosch chuck with a standard 16mm twist-lock one? The Bosch one seems fiddly and could be too small.

I replaced it with a Röhm Supra-S (Model No. 871050). The answer that states there is no provision for changing the chuck is incorrect. The supplied chuck (Röhm Supra-SK E) isn't specified for a pillar drill, while the Supra-S is. I also changed the bearing out for an NSK 6002DDUCM (n.b. this isn't an entirely simple undertaking, so approach at your own risk). The drill is a lot more accurate now with those two upgrades.

Why does it mention battery state when it is mains powered ?

Because Amazon thought they would intrigue you by adding totally irrelevant information about the Bosch PSB 10.8 LI-2 Cordless Hammer Drill. Perhaps in readiness for the first of April?

I need to store this drill in a cabinet. What would be the minimum size box it would fit in fully assembled? Given dim. are shipping dim. Thanks!

Hello - sorry for the delay - I've just measured it and the footprint is 33cm wide and 35cm deep. The top of the pillar is 66.5cm. In practise you would want your cabinet to slightly exceed these dimensions.

Can you use drum sanding attachments with this?

I don't know. I wouldn't try it. The drill press is too small and not made for that much work. Get a cheap $200 one from Harbor Freight with a belt, not a gear box like this one.
