I have been a train enthusiast since childhood. My dad had a set of Lionel trains that only came out at Christmas time, along with the small city he built the tracks were mounted on. These sets are much smaller in scale, needless to say, but the amount of detail in them is incredible! They are meant strictly as directions and will NOT run on tracks, so please don't buy them thinking they will. They are meant for display purposes only and will look lovely on a shelf, all by themselves or with trees, houses, etc., behind them. Let your imagination take over and create a lovely diorama, or whatever else strikes your fancy. They can be left out all year, or used in a Christmas-themed tableau. The sky's the limit, just use your imagination!

They are roughly the size of matchbox cars, maybe a little bigger. Otherwise no complaints

My 4 yr old grandson with autism LOVED them! I used them to decorate his birthday cake. Sadly, we had to keep them from his 1 yr old sister who wanted to chew on them because they are mostly plastic with tiny, easily breakable parts.

This train is pretty small and lightweight/poor quality. It broke upon first use when our toddler went to play with but even if an older child or adult played with, it still comes apart when you’re trying to put together and use. If you do buy, this is a “for display” product only.

Very small but cute however they do not click together, they come apart right away. Frustrating for the toddler.

do not know how well these would be for a kid, but for my purpose they are great. bought to add them to my Christmas Dicken's village and they look great just the right size without distracting from dept 56 dickens buildings

Decently made, but it's not compatible with the wooden table train tracks. Too small. Some photos are exaggerated.
