Hive Window or Door Sensor - White, Pack of 1

I've had these before, reliable and good battery life. I've done away with my Hive hub now and control these with Zigbee. The Power units make a great standalone mesh to support these sensors

Bought two from Amazon warehouse slightly cheaper than full price. One didn’t come with the sticky pads but luckily I had some spares. The other also had the battery seal removed so I had to do a factory reset on it before I could add it. Both parts just stick to the door and door frame so installation is easy. You need to ensure the gap is small between the two. Initially I was getting false alerts on one of the doors as it wasn’t quite flush to the frame so had to relocate the sensors. I would recommend lining the sensors up on the correct markers on the sensors and testing prior to affecting as one of the sensors didn’t work on the marked point and had to be the opposite way around. Once added to the hive app you can monitor the sensor and test prior to sticking to the door.

This sensor requires a hub this is ok if you already invested in the hive eco system otherwise you'd have to fork out £70+ for the hub. You can use it to get peace of mind when you are out of your house. Use this on your door or window, it detects windows and door opening, so if its opened when you're not in you get a notification straight away on your smartphone. Set up and instructions is very easy and straight forward especially if you already have Hive. installation on your door or window is also very easy, the sensor comes with sticky pads, making the install very clean and simple. Whilst the app could be a lot better, it is very simple and easy to use. Through the app you can set up automation/routines and you can also set up the Hive Door sensor to be used with other Hive integrated products like the Hive smart plug, motion sensor, camera and light bulbs. You can check the status of your door or window and look up activity over the last 24 hours for free or pay £5 a month to look up the last 30 days. A few reviews complain about connection issues and battery life but I haven't had any such issues. I have the latest wireless Hive 360 hub, the hub itself has on the odd occasion gone offline for some strange reason, but that's an issue with the hub not the sensor. I've been using the sensor for just over a year and it's battery indicator on the Hive app shows the battery is still full which is great. I like this sensor, it's reasonably priced and works fairly well as a security device, however I can only really recommend it if you're already locked into the Hive eco system, that way you'd get the most out of it. Very easy to set up and install, no issues at all, connected to the app and was ready to use in under a few minutes Notifications seem to work fine too, overall please with it and what it does even though that is just telling me when the front door is open or closed and for how long it was open etc lol

NOT FOR MOTION DETECTION!!!! THESE REGISTER WHEN THE DOOR OPENS OR CLOSES. I LOVE THEM AS THEY CONNECT THROUGH HIVE HUB TO ALL OF MY PHILIPS HUE LIGHTS AND SET ACTIONS WILL TURN ON LIGHTS AND MY TV AFTER DARK SHOULD MY BACK DOOR BE OPENED IN THE NIGHT. GREAT VALUE IF YOU NEVER PAY FULL PRICE.

I purchased this for my front door as only to alert mine and wife's phone when opened and closed after young one found ways to exit the home either past locked doors and windows.. My phone was set up correctly as to there app.. it worked but after 5-10 mins the notification would come though to the phone .. clearly showing that the delay even with super fast connection was ridiculous.. We have a home alarm already but if there are people viewing this for this reason to protect there homes, either doors or windows against intruders then PLEASE.! DONT PURCHASE as a group of burglars could even take up your carpets before you get notification anybody's in your house. Would never purchase again and would never recommend to anyone..

I have waited a while to post this review, as I wanted to get a feel for this over a longer term. Its easy to mount and following the instructions, easy to connect the the hub. It's been somewhat unreliable in connection with the hub. The hive software is a little buggy, I have the setup that if the porch door sensor is opened, the hive light in the porch, turns on for 5 minutes... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, there is no consistency to identify the issue. I can only assume there is a signal issue or a software glitch. It isn't just this sensor, my other 4 have similar issues, 1 is only 5 feet from the hub.

Arrived next day thanks to Prime. Sensor cane well packed and with a little instruction leaflet. Setting up was very easy. Pull the little plastic battery sleeve out and then go into your Hive app and follow the simple instructions ( you will need to have the Hive Hub). Once connected the the app notifies you when the door is opened and it will tell you how long it was open for too. I’m very impressed with it and will order more for the other doors.

Bought to turn off heating while door was open. Did not register the door as closed. Refit in multiple locations, and reset but not luck. Returned.

Finalmente un sensore che funziona! È vero che bisogna avere un HUB Hive, e che non funziona con Alexa, ma non perde un colpo, al contrario delle cinesate e non trovate e provate su Amazon. Contro: legato ad un ecosistema singolo e prezzo esoso Pro: funziona egregiamente
