Detects, metal and wood studs, more reliable than previous ones purchased

A very useful peace of equipment to have I found it easy to use and located electric cables pipes and metal structures in walls and floors easily

This bosch detector is great quality and does exactly what it says on this tin. I used many others but this tick all the boxes for me.

I so wanted this Bosch scanner to work but it proved too inconsistent. I have a x2 other cheaper multi stud detectors and these perform far better than this unit,

Bosch 120 D-Tect is better than other detectors of Bosch or similar products. In case of electrical cables it's working fine even the cable are not nearby water pipes. Metal water pipes also is correctly detected, in case of plastic water pipes needs pacience and correct moving of detector. As in other detectors important is training and learning how has to be moved the detector and how to have to interpret the indications of the tool. Helpful is the indication of tool in which direction has to be move the tool to center the detection. Detection is going worser when different cable/pipes/metal objects are closed. for homeworkers is a good tool and better than the green line products of Bosch, for profesionals this tool is as good as they are. 100% perfect detection in any situation will not achieved by this tool. It is better than a normal detector, but not perfect. The perfect detector still has not been developed

I tested this with pieces of wood ie studs, copper pipe, electrical cable and I think plastic pipe behind, as far as I recollect, a sheet of 13mm ply and it did accurately detect objects. The problem for me as a plumber is it does not distinguish metal or plastic pipe from stud work so I though it wasn't really much use. On reflection however if you can identify studs and their 'width' and this differs from the standard stud width, you do at least have some idea that something else there! A local store did also extoll the virtues of the GSM 120 which can apparently distinguish the two and is nearly half the price so I recturned the above. The GSM 120 I notice comes with mixed reviews but I think I am going to give it a try! Tried also getting some help from the Bosch Tools forum but there seems to be some problem with my password and have been unable to have it reset after a number of attempts to have it done automatically, as well as couple of emails and phonecalls! Phone support responsive but not technically knowledgeable.

Quite frankly, apart from live electric wires, I have no idea if this actually works or not…. It detects stuff that don’t exist. So I end up not trusting it. Besides, having to slide it against the wall leaves marks. The plastic is not suited to be sliding against white walls.

I was expecting it to pick up live cables in the wall etc but it doesn't do any better than my black and decker etc (only picks up a couple of live cables and senses something is possibly in the wall at other points). I now have 4 scanners and the other 3 are just as good and when you add the cost you could probably buy 2 sets of them for the cost of this one item.

J'ai acheté ce produit à la suite à l’acquisition d'une maison à retaper. N'ayant pas ni plans électriques et ni béton, je voulais être sur de mes perçages et découpes béton. Je voulais disquer 2 murs entiers, donc n'ai pas trop le droit à l'erreur. Donc, voilà le nouveau maître à bord à qui j'ai confié ma sécurité et c'est enfin le produit que je recherchais. Oui, c'est cher, mais ça marche presque à 100%. Dans mon cas, tout est en béton armé, donc il y a des faux positifs mais c'est normal. Il faut bien lire la notice qui explique comment se placer le long du mur pour ne pas faire antenne avec son corps. Il faut poser une main bien à plat sur le mur puis tenir le détecteur avec l'autre main, sans appareil électrique branché à proximité. Il m'a aidé aussi à suivre les rails métalliques sous des panneaux de plâtres. 0 % d'erreur. Il est solide et aucune rayures sur le socle, bien que je l'ai frotté sur les murs en béton. Livré avec 3 piles bâtons, la forme du réceptacle à pile le rend compatible avec les batteries rechargeables Bosch. Avec des piles, je n'ai jamais eu besoin d'en changer les 3 mois d'utilisation. Je ne regrette pas mon achat. 100% recommandé. Ayant déjà acquis un autre model plus économique, le Bosch Professional Détecteur mural GMS 120 disponible sur Amazon ici: amzn.to/3bRc7en (Copiez/collez ce lien dans votre navigateur) dont je ne suis pas du tout content. Les détections étaient très approximatives et plutôt trop sensibles. Il clignote en permanence, même en présence uniquement de bois. Je pense que Bosch aurait dû le peindre en vert plutôt qu'en bleu. Enfin... Je n'ose imaginer ce que les modèles de marques alternatives vont vous donner! Et même mieux, je l'ai revendu une fois la cartographie faite sur un site de petite annonce et presque récupéré mon investissement de départ. Donc il n'y a aucune raison de reculer devant l'investissement pour sa propre sécurité. C'est Bosch et sa valeur à la revente est importante.

I return the scanner because I had a very specific use. I needed to stud find through 3/8 porcelain tile and 1/2 bathroom wall board. The unit said it found the studs, but missed them by over 1 ". I had a cheaper scanner that found the studs every time. I this this unit would be good for other applications, but try the cheap one first(Franklin pro sensor style).

Me gusta construir y colocar accesorios en casa. Lo compré porque iba a construir mi cocina, es infalible. Lo recomiendo 100%. La pega: el precio.

La spedizione : non capisco perché amazon si affidi ad sda che per la mia esperienza è il peggior corriere che ho usato, infatti in ritardo di un giorno Il prodotto : per il momento l'ho provato sul muro di casa e ha una precisione Millimetrica! Note aggiuntive : in una risposta precedente un utente ha scritto che va solo con le pile, falso! Il libretto di istruzioni indica che va anche con le pile Bosch 10 volt e 12 (infatti ho usato una batteria da 10 già in mio possesso e va alla grande) Altra nota aggiuntiva: c'è chi nei commenti dice che non funziona, io ho un esperienza contraria, va che è una meraviglia, consiglio a chi lo usa di togliersi anelli, orologi, tutte le cose di metallo, è un errore di utilizzo di questi apparecchi molto comune, se dopo la causa è un altra non saprei, per ora sono soddisfatto e lo ricomprarsi (Ammetto che ero titubante a sborsare più di 200 euro per un uso casalingo, ma ora che lo sto provando lo ricomprerei ad occhi chiusi, diffidate dai modelli inferiori nemmeno se sono Bosch, hanno un altra tecnologia, se volete qualcosa che funzioni c'è poco da fare...questo dopo lunghe ricerche è il minimo da cui partire)
